A very easy gift Fatshark could give us for the Holiday break & a beginning step to fixing crafting

Yeah, I would also prefer they outright remove the locks (which I suppose is just removing some values) but they’ve said they didn’t want to do that. So anything else such as paying to break them with diamantine is an extra feature, which would probably take FS a long time to implement.

It would honestly be the best route they could take, at least until they drop a different crafting system.

If we’re lucky, and it certainly won’t be a crafting overhaul.

Seriously guys, it’s been almost a year of the community screaming about the crafting system, and FS hasn’t even done the bare minimum and had a real honest conversation with the community. The odds they will actually take action and make meaningful changes are pretty slim

@FatsharkCatfish would it be possible to get some kind of communication about the crafting system beyond "we hear you"or “we understand it’s a pain point”?

Look at woogies, he is big sad.

The fact we can’t spend Diamantine to upgrade blessings and perks is just annoying, or even just spending it to remove a lock, and spend more to remove the last lock. Like seriously stop forcing us to brick items and have to buy new weapons to see if RNGesus hates us or not.

If Fatshark had any further statements to make on the matter, they would have told their CMs as much. It’s been a year since the game launched. Best to learn to read the silence on the topic.

I’d like to be able to “scour away old scars” as Hadron says.
And she also insists that “all weapons can be made better”, which is clearly contrary to evidence.

Not sure anything new will be said. I can live with having a weapon cleanse option for some diamantine … just resets a weapon to profane. Still some grind. Still some RNG. But at least I could re-use some of the (circa) 100 oranges I have in my various character’s inventory that are doing nothing other than eating digital real estate.

Hard disagree - they’ve made changes and updated entire systems based on player feedback countless times in VT2 and a lot here as well. It’s important to continue to express how we feel about a system if we want it changed.

Also that’s just not true, it wasn’t a satisfactory step but they did update the crafting a couple times. They increased material payout per map, and they made changing locks 2/4 total instead of 2 sets of 1/2. So they are addressing it, but I’m assuming want to avoid a complete rehaul of the system. Which is why I think it’s important to keep pushing for something to happen.

And if we stop talking about how much we revile this horseshit, then they certainly won’t.

Everything has a point of critical mass. That we haven’t hit it yet doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Nor does it nessessarily mean that there’s no building pressure.

I think narrowing the spread of random weapon rolls would go a VERY long way towards alleviating the misery of crafting in this game. I agree that it doesn’t make much sense at all that we receive mostly low-level weapons from Brunt after level 30. Nobody will use these low-level rolls, meaning that their only purpose is to waste your resources and force you to grind more.

For me, trying to get well-rolled weapons from Brunt is so wasteful and discouraging that I just avoid crafting as much as possible. I look at the prospect of crafting with dread, with the goal being to STOP crafting as soon as I can. I feel discouraged from engaging with the crafting system as a whole - that isn’t fun at all, and probably isn’t how Fatshark wants us to feel.

Fatshark, creating this much grind just isn’t necessary to get me to play your game - I play your game already because I enjoy it! I wouldn’t play the game any less if the crafting system was more friendly to the players.
