A nice problem to have!

Cool ideas!

I’d like to see some sort of dense, creepy alien fungal forest…like Nausicaa. Perhaps natures reaction to the smog and waste of the hive city?

Or mines that opens into a cave system with loads of crazy alien flora…bioluminescent etc.

I’ve detailed quite a few ideas by now but in other threads so I will save repeating them here. I just started the thread because I really really want new maps as a priority now.

Chaos realm deep within the Hive”? How would that work? Is that even a thing in the 40k universe? You go deep enough into a Hive City and suddenly, boom, you’re in the Garden of Nurgle? That sounds like a place that our rejects just wouldn’t be allowed to survive without some serious consequences, lore-wise.

Beasts of Nurgle I can understand because one could say that we do not die immediately when we come in contact with them, because they were badly summoned or that they are very young and underdeveloped, or that the warp presence on Atoma is simply pretty weak.

But an entire Chaos Realm somehow appearing in a Hive City? That would be just jumping the Shark, wouldn’t it?

Well portals and partial bleed through from the warp are a thing. More likely it would just be like a really dense nurgle gardened centered around a warp rift likely sustained by a admonision ritual.

Nurgle diseases are more or less faith based, as with most warp stuff its messy. I mean people have dissolved into goo from touching a beast of nurgle for a single second. But I think the lore explination is that the zealot and their holy relics wards off the kill team from infection.

V2 does not need more enemies lmao, at best bosses.

The warp is all around us… actual lore I don’t know the specifics but yes if its done in Space Marine 2… whether we would survive…probably not :man_shrugging:

Warp storms have cut off the mobein domain from easy travel / communication though appears some things can get through, “Darktide” term also refers to all sort of hidden threats in the sector… possible “they” are leaking through somewhere…

Other variants are Eldar webways, orks used a living eldar to activate them and pop around the universe in one book. Orks also set up an ship ambush in the warp and cut off a planet from reinforcements for fear of other ships being wiped out… one of the Ciaphus Cain books.

In Fantasy Skaven have a weird almost warp tunneling ability popping out randomly, utilizing the warp in weaponry and love gathering concentrated warp in form of Warp Stone… This symbol keeps bothering me…whats it doing in Darktide I can’t find any 40K reference to it. (best guess is it mean pestilence and just happens to be the same…my funnest fan theory is they have tunneled through universe and are HERE, other sizeable rats are in universe)

Perhaps if they finish the gist of the main campaign we can explore further into the mobian domain…

Multiple planets listed in character creation, camo color skins lore and even the dark source of the traitor legion and the “DarkTide”

I’m fairly certain that we won’t ever go to those planets, this isn’t the type of game that benefit from it.

Vermintide is getting maps yes, but they haven’t seen any new weapon since Necro, more than 2 years ago, and if you want to consider all the other characters, 4 year ago (Forgotten weapons).

On the other hand, Darktide has got:

  • Traitor Curse: 10 new weapon marks
  • Machine God: 4 new weapons
  • Arbites: 4 new weapons
  • Bound by Duty: 1 new weapon and 2 marks
  • Scum: 6 weapons

There is also the knowledge that Vermintide is much closer to its EoL than from its start, there is already some things that are confirmed on not being possible to happen anymore, like new character\careers (Character was confirmed back at launch, Career iirc was when SotT was launched and some people were asking if there would be a 5th career for each character)

New enemy factions… which imo aren’t needed for VT2, just introduce new lords to assassinate.

Modes, like Versus was the latest one, and I doubt that they’re planning on doing a 6th mode (Campaign, Fortune of War, Weave, Chaos Waste and Versus), with the regard that only 3 have been addressed in DT (Respectively Campaign, Mortis and Havoc).

This whole thread is very much just " the grass is always greener on the other side", of the 2 games, one is still being supported much more than the other.

Hell even if we want to look at the maps:

Year Vermintide 2 Darktide
2018 5 maps (2 Dlc)
2019 1 Map + Weave ( ← Dlc) + Quiet Drink
2020 3 Maps
2021 Chaos Waste
2022 1 Map 1 Map
2023 4 Maps 4 Maps + Twin Assignment
2024 3 Maps 3 Maps + Havoc
2025 3 Maps 1 Map + Mortis Trial (3 Maps)

Vermintide is indeed getting on average more maps, but 1 those used to be dlc content, and VT2 maps aren’t changing from modifiers quite as often or as heavily either.

Honestly I wouldn’t have minded not getting any map this year in VT2, if instead we had gotten the new weapon dlc for it.

Hell, I’d be overdosing if they introduced new classes in VT2 still.

To be entirely fair from this. Mortis Trials add up to about 1 map between them since the 3 maps are pretty small. And VT2 got maps for the PvP mode. I think that means basically 5 maps total for VT2 2025 and 2 maps total for darktide 2025. So I get where the complaint comes from.

The Versus maps are just modifying their base maps.

Otherwise should the different maps from some of the modifier be counted up ?

And again, that is if we just look at maps, with not counting anything more
