I’m fairly certain that we won’t ever go to those planets, this isn’t the type of game that benefit from it.
Vermintide is getting maps yes, but they haven’t seen any new weapon since Necro, more than 2 years ago, and if you want to consider all the other characters, 4 year ago (Forgotten weapons).
On the other hand, Darktide has got:
- Traitor Curse: 10 new weapon marks
- Machine God: 4 new weapons
- Arbites: 4 new weapons
- Bound by Duty: 1 new weapon and 2 marks
- Scum: 6 weapons
There is also the knowledge that Vermintide is much closer to its EoL than from its start, there is already some things that are confirmed on not being possible to happen anymore, like new character\careers (Character was confirmed back at launch, Career iirc was when SotT was launched and some people were asking if there would be a 5th career for each character)
New enemy factions… which imo aren’t needed for VT2, just introduce new lords to assassinate.
Modes, like Versus was the latest one, and I doubt that they’re planning on doing a 6th mode (Campaign, Fortune of War, Weave, Chaos Waste and Versus), with the regard that only 3 have been addressed in DT (Respectively Campaign, Mortis and Havoc).
This whole thread is very much just " the grass is always greener on the other side", of the 2 games, one is still being supported much more than the other.
Hell even if we want to look at the maps:
| Year |
Vermintide 2 |
Darktide |
| 2018 |
5 maps (2 Dlc) |
|
| 2019 |
1 Map + Weave ( ← Dlc) + Quiet Drink |
|
| 2020 |
3 Maps |
|
| 2021 |
Chaos Waste |
|
| 2022 |
1 Map |
1 Map |
| 2023 |
4 Maps |
4 Maps + Twin Assignment |
| 2024 |
3 Maps |
3 Maps + Havoc |
| 2025 |
3 Maps |
1 Map + Mortis Trial (3 Maps) |
Vermintide is indeed getting on average more maps, but 1 those used to be dlc content, and VT2 maps aren’t changing from modifiers quite as often or as heavily either.
Honestly I wouldn’t have minded not getting any map this year in VT2, if instead we had gotten the new weapon dlc for it.
Hell, I’d be overdosing if they introduced new classes in VT2 still.
