So you managed the impossible Creating a loot game without any loot. Rather than performance in missions matter, what quality loot you get you now have to check shops every hour to get a green or blue item or god roll white one so you can then upgrade it… This is the worst endgame experience I have had with your games. It seems you don’t have any content for endgame which is obvious with the levels using the same sections of others or just inverting them, that’s why you let craft system mechanics one by one, even with that if I was getting items after each mission and we get better items with harder difficulty or getting all 3 scripts or grims or having the modifier matter I would be a happy person. Please rework the whole damn looting system and have it drop more rating appropriate items I am stuck at 490 something on both weapons I keep getting 400-450 items. I think a revert to vermintide loot is a must if this game is to survive .
It’s a co-op shooter that has gear. It is not a loot game.
I think a better question is; What did FS intend our endgame experience to be?
Thats the first question I want to ask if given the chance.
Playing tides series was all about reaching a mechanical ceiling and also being able to control what seems uncontrollable.
FS has had time to chew on systems in V2. Winds of magic, Chaos wastes and the standard A-B mission system, with a deed here and there.
V2 (for me) became a grind to get borders and a red of each of my favorite weapon. It was something to work towards.
From what i’ve been seeing and the frustration players are talking about (regarding weapon grind). Is this is not something they can work towards, its turned into a literal game of dice.
After reaching level 30 we no longer receive commendation chests for earning continues exp.
I think FS needs to look at those 3 things to work towards a healthy player experience.

Prestige system - Let us continue to earn EXP. News flash! People like big numbers. I get the whole this isnt call of duty but the prestige system kept people grinding forever. Every good shooter has a prestige system in some sort. Currently exp serves 0 purpose after reaching the cap. Is the exp converted into currency?
-
Obtaining Weapons - A lot of different opinions here. I don’t have a great solution. Currently most players are not satisfied with how they can obtain a weapon. I would like to see something along the lines of using the weapon during a mission levels it up. Simplicity, 1% damage gained for each completed mission or # of enemies killed(until the weapon is maxed). Put penances on the weapons traits (i know mind blowing). Once the penance is completed it unlocks the trait.
-
Player Borders - They did update borders to show the current helmet and mask the player has, which was an ask from the community about V2. Great! I think this is the closest system to being completed. Its also the first feature people will say we dont really care about before they turn to roast you over the RNG.
When you digest these 3 points you may be scratching your head thinking, player border? This isnt endgame! Prestige? That should be standard! Obtaining weapons? (flips desk!)
So ill end it back on my first question and add another.
What did FS intend our endgame experience to be?
What does the Community want for endgame content?
Raids, Horde, PvP, Randomly generated maps(would fit nice with the RNG) Custom Deeds. The list has better options. But maybe the community is right, If the loot isn’t right, why play any endgame?
The game should stop crashing and running at 10 fps first.
It’d be a nice step in the right direction for me.
kqgee 2.
Then why is Fatshark so stingy with good equipment? If they had confidence that the co-op experience will carry the game why would it be a problem if people can acquire the equipment they want without putting thousands of hours in?
Have to agree with Aetrion if the co-op was so good the loot wouldn’t matter . Take Left 4 Dead for example there was no loot but yet the game was fun to play. If you have crafting system then it’s a loot game .
Yea. I like having a loot system in a game because I enjoy getting some kind of reward for playing a lot, but the system they have is clearly designed so that it takes forever for people to get good gear, and they went way overboard with it, to the point where people are more likely to just give up than to be motivated to play long term.
