the amount of chests you would have to open to even have 500 different deeds is a cosmic number

Yes, it is a lot. V2 is a lot about grinding. And even 500 deeds is nothing compared to trying to find all “red” weapon illusions. To “complete” this game you need about 3000 hours. And even then you will not have everything because some things are no longer available…
I have 2200+ hours and I’ve only done about ~120 
It’s a lot, but it’s a fraction of the grind required elsewhere. Try asking players in lobbies if they want to do deeds.
Back then me and my friends used to do them all the time (it was before cata).
There is currently a bug that might help you. Deeds at the moment are consumed only if they are the host’s, so have a friend start a deed in your lobby and even without getting new ones you can progress.

I miss GoM skip. It was a lot of fun because the players who didn’t do the skip could try to go for the first tome. We always take it like a race and sometimes try to kill each other. 
By the way if you want I can host the game for couple of runs on weekend I even have some double vault deeds. Just dm me if you want.

i played duo deeds with a buddy when the game came out, we never ran out of deeds. can see it being a problem when trying it solo, you should look for people who have the same goal
I avoided cheaters like you when doing this deed. I suppose there are still more people like me there.

I don’t play V2 much now.
But I can help you with the “red chest adventure” glitch.
i needed 4k hours to “complete the game”, but i took a break now i have to farm stuff again haha. I am at 6,7k hours.

@Max93 You must really love the game then. I play very rarely, I’m still waiting for FS to fix the worst bugs and oversights, or at least start approving mods so modders can fix them. But it seems that it won’t happen until the game dies…

@ZinStonehead Yeah i love the game, the combat mechanics just feel like a natural flow for me. Dont know, it is addicting. But i play most often with friends and above cata.
it drops around 5-6% from chests. also I think emperors are worse, bc the deed drop on the place of a green item and reds decrease the chance. moreover, open 5 chests at once bc the % hits more often given that the rounding is bad with less item slots. 5% out of 3 chest is lower then 5% out of 15 chest.
