It happened to me again btw. On Festering Ground, I got downed by a marauder from behind when fighting a stormfiend. No horde, just a couple ambients and the boss. The bots didn´t even try to come and pick me up, I guess because there were some flames in the way (which they could really easily go through without damage), and when they finally started to seem to care about me being slowly beaten to death, they ran towards me (I think) only for one of them to be caught by a packmaster, so they all turned around and left me to get killed. Game over.
Yeah, i can’t solo legend with bots anymore. Previously, i’d win 3/5 (maybe), but now i can rarely win. Bots are dying REALLY easy though i’m always handing them all the healing pots/medkits. Like the other folks above, skill isn’t the issue. I’ve been playing solely with BH for the past 300h so i unavoidably got really proficient with him, which is a really strong career to begin with. Since i like to chill playing with bots, i got to know their behavior quite well and i’m 100% positive the are underperforming hard.
On a side note: i get why FS had to change their teleportting behavior, but the way it’s now make the bots lag behind too far. It’s definitely overdone.
So I lost 4 games in a row because bots failed to pick me up in time. But often, losing is rather caused by the bots jumping off ledges or getting stuck. Here are some screenshots I have taken over the past few days, depicting the stupidity and dysfunctionality of the bots at the moment:
Here we can see a spot where all the bots simultaneously decided to jump over the edge for absolutely no reason at all. Two specials spawned at the same moment above them, and if one of them was a gutter runner, I very likely would have lost this one (I did lose this one, but not because of this, just after I killed the specials and pulled them up. a horde spawned, I ate an overhead of a SV, and the bots then kinda ignored me and let me die.) Screenshot taken after I pulled them up.
Here we can see a spot where all the bots got stuck, and had I not noticed , or had I not been able to go back up and pull them down via via the staircase, I surely would have lost because of this.
And best for last, when I was getting the 2nd tome on Righteous Stand, unchained for some reason stayed back when the other bots followed, a horde came, and swamped her. Before I could get to her across the room, she got downed, and then I just kept slaughtering the hordes that kept coming at us. I was trying to revive her, but the hordes kept coming and even with two other bots by my side, we weren´t able to even hold our own, let alone defeat the hordes; I got almost downed myself. So I turned around to see what the hell was going on, and saw that it is because I was soloing the horde while both remaining bots were standing in the same spot idly like d1cks. So I had to jump off the staircase and go pull them, because otherwise I might have been downed and would have lost as a result, because no one would come revive me. So I had to sacrifice the unchained, which fortunately wasn´t that big of a deal, but it could have easily cost me victory or at least a grimoire.
Fix your stupid bots, Fatshark.
Are you playing on modded realm buddy?
Well I guess I have to accept the fact that bots were not useful, and it got even worse after the update. I think rather than expecting Fatshark to fix the bots (which might take long or not likely to happen at all), we can discuss ways to deal with bots instead.

Seems Righteous Stand is the safest map to run, I also like Into The Nest because of the extra dices. I also only use characters like BH with excellent ability to remove specials, which are great threats to bots. I have experienced a situation where Kruber got hit and downed by a gas bomb, IB helped him up and Kruber stayed inside the gas cloud using his medkit and he died before he finished patching up. Even in an old game L4d2 bots will avoid spit and even take less damage from it!

Let the bots carry books and always carry a heal with you, the bots prioritize healing THEMSELVES and they always have the opportunity to waste the heals. With the update we can control bots to only carry tomes and they won’t pick up heals even they see one. Also we need to be extra careful whenever we drop, (especially when there’s a gutter) and double check if the bots are following.
Truth, except bots do still pick up everything just the way they used to, except now you can make them change their mind if you want to. I personally find Fort Brachsenbrucke to be perhaps the safest and quickest map to play, with or without bots, then also Righteous Stand, and Empire in Flames once you get past the first half or so. I try to deal with the specials, but I can´t really commit to it, because the bots can´t even wipe their own ass, less so deal with a horde or a boss without getting rekt.
One of the bots pathing issues is that they try to follow your route almost exactly, and if you take a path that they have trouble with they will get stuck there unless you guide them around or get far enough away to make them teleport.
2:08 - I always make that jump without thinking and the bots always get stuck there. Especially bad if a patrol is coming as you can see (and of course they run a mile away and leave me with the patrol XD).
18:55 - When I take the shortcut they get stuck until I go back or teleport them forward. Also, if you climb the ladder and jump the gap right next to the top instead of walking the beam they will get stuck in a loop of climbing up, trying to jump it, and falling over and over.
If these issues in my other thread were addressed I could probably win solo matches %100 of the time, Three changes bots desperately need - #2 by Starker.
Noticed the same since coming back. Bots seem to love breathing that fresh Gas Rat air too.

So I just lost another game when IB bot didn´t follow me for some reason while the other 2 bots did, a horde came, and at the same time, he got caught by a packmaster. I rushed back to save him, but he got downed before I could get to him and promptly killed as well, and I found myself surrounded. Unchained got overwhelmed, and then mercenary got caught by packmaster also. GG.
I give up (again) and return to the freezer until FS fixes yet another issue that completely robs the game of its fun. Just lost another run with 4 tomes, grims and 4 dices even though i handed the bots 70% of all the healing found. They simply cannot help but get their artificial asses beaten swiftly and badly. It amazes how this game gets so broken so many times.
Oh yeah, and a couple days ago, on Halescourge, I got completely screwed over at the 2nd tome location. I jumped to the boat to order a bot to pick up the tome, and they all followed, and they all jumped over the edge of the boat. So I pulled them up. They picked up the tome, I started climbing up, they all jumped over the edge. So I pulled them up again, and started climbing up the ladder. And they all jumped over the edge. Before I could pull them all up again, a globadier and a warpfire thrower spawned next to them pretty much (on the water surface, because that is a thing now on Halescourge, at least on balance beta), the globadier threw his globes, I barely made it out of there, and all the bots got killed by the gas and mostly their own stupidity. I can semi-accept that I sometimes have to pull bots up in certain sports, even that I always have to pull them up, but if I get stuck in an infinite loop, that is the very definition of a game-breaking bug.
