Every time I exit the game now (as of yesterday?) Steam will say the game is running (when it is not seen in task manager etc.)… .the only way to open the game again is to force close Steam and re-open it.
Seems like an issue of the bug reporter or something “post close” hanging up? Steam is tricked to think it is still running forever.
I have the same issue. You (we?) should probably post in the bug subsection of the forums to get their attention.
YES! Yes I should, just realized this is certainly not the section I thought I tossed it into haha, will repost… .also have some more info on it to share (to save rebooting steam) … there was a CrashReporter.exe in Task manager (details) when closed, let’s Steam Clear up and allow relaunching.
I have the same exact problem. Just started a couple of weeks ago. The only way to stop the game from running is to exit Steam. The game seems to stop but Steam is reporting it’s still running.
Yeah, i have had the same problem since the start of the beta, recently it was closing itself properly, that lasted for about 4 days, but yesterday it started not closing itself in steam again.

It’s the crash reporter.
Open up task manager.
End task on CrashReporter. It will fix the problem. Been having it on and off since beta
