To this day Vermintide 2 has some cosmetics that have been datamined since release that never saw the light of day, if I’m not mistaken.

Kruber’s grenade launcher was datamined from VT1, was still in the files for VT2 on it’s launch, and I’m still waiting for it almost a decade later.

those are standard weapon skins for dockets, and players at 25M don’t earn one more docket, but still can’t buy those.

The commisary just needs to become the recolour spray shop.
recolour items using a hue slider. Dockets taken once confirmed. Do as many times as you like to whatever items you like.

I’m still firmly of the mindset that recolors of the default weapon models with just a different pattern on top shouldn’t be sold for real money.
If they’re going to be lazy, at least recolor a premium model.

Although this is not totally related to the Commissary discussion, I find it puzzling that Fatshark hasn’t made it possible for players to switch skins amongst the same markings yet.
What is preventing my blue infantry lasgun from taking the green one’s skin?

Just to reiterate what kind of company FS is:
This is the most recent Vermintide 2 update. How can you know in march that you won’t be able to deliver a single weapon pack within the span of a full year, or rather 9 months remaining?`
Expectation management is the word here.
Expect nothing, be disappointed still. I have zero hope for Darkitde.

That’s why I will most likely not buy another game from them. DT DLC, yes I’m 1k hours in and I’ve loved the atmosphere but that’s it.
I feel even some of the lazy recolors could have looked at least ok, if they didn’t have this weird checkerboard/stripe pattern on them. The checkerboard is just awful, and the stripes really only work for one look - pirate.
The Psyker has one commissary outfit that bothers me immensely, the top is a tiger stripe camouflage design while the bottom has a completely different camo pattern. Not only does this outfit just look awful, but these items will not match any other cosmetics because of this stupid pattern.
Like sure, it’s hard to mix and match stuff from the FOMO aquila shop, but at least those items don’t have weird ass checkerboard patterns on them, so I can possibly have pants that could look good with another top.

I think in this case it’s arguably because management said no to them getting those resources this year. They elaborated on this and basically said they just learned of this themselves, too.

commissary gets docket-bought addons for aquilla purchased skins instead some boring red and blue i dont even consider “alternatives”
brunt gets a section where you can alter your weapons addons visually docket-cost based
(doesnt even need to be more than on your client side if server-stuff os a concern)
and a lotta rejects i wager are gonna be happy as slaneesh in durex

If they allow recoloring the skins you’ve already bought, it means for each purchase you get more value-- each item gives you multiple items in a sense. So the more items you buy, and the more recoloring options you unlock, the less reason there’s for you to keep buying, because you can just switch colors around if you get bored.
Even though you’ve already bought green weapon, to them each item is a possible separate purchase, even if it’s the same weapon with slightly different model. Why allow recoloring or modifying our existing staff, when you can sell the exact same model but colored black as a whole new item?

Don’t say never.
Problem is that there is no other game like that with fast gameplay, melee and ranged weapons, stressful… if there was such game, even only solo (I really want that a game has a solo game mode), I would have left the boat.
I wish a company would step in this genre. I doubt that this is a niche. But I don’t doubt that their way to make business don’t make them looking good.
An example: we had to be a lot vocal to get them finishing the crafting system And it was far from good. Between the game release and the 1st crafting update, Darktide has lost 90% of the player base of its beginning.
