Will the character limit increase to 10 with the new class?

When the Hive Scum was released, I ended up deleting one of my existing characters to make room, only to see the character limit get increased about two weeks later. I have just finished leveling that old character back up to 30, but obviously, I am at the current maximum limit once again.

With the Skitarii coming out, can we expect another limit increase similar to last time? If so, is there any chance we could get that limit increased to 10 right alongside the release of the new class, rather than with any delay?

try this https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/209

one funny thing: it says Increase the number of character slots to 8 and loadouts to 12 per characters.

i have that mod (for the extra loadouts, since we had only the 4 original classes), now i have 7 characters (since 2 zealots) and the mod says there’s only 1 place left. i hope there’s a way to edit the mod to 10 characters for example, or fatshark also increases the number of loadouts.

@HestiaFeetSniffer
I have it already for the extra loadout, but as Pirx said, it actually reduces it to 8. My issue is that I already have 9 operatives, so I would have to sacrifice one of them for a new skitarii unless they up the limit

@Pirx
Yup, you can very easily adjust it, but the issue is going above the official limit Fatshark set (8 was the hidden before and they increased it to 9 after releasing hive scum) breaks it, so you want to set it to 9 currently. Increasing it above works seemingly but the game breaks when you try to create the first above limit one.
Find your mod folder and go to…\mods\more_characters_and_loadouts\scripts\mods\more_characters_and_loadouts

And change the following line to this:
MainMenuViewSettings.max_num_characters = 9
It should give you the proper and currently active official limit of 9 operatives.

the limits on character slots are a very strange thing, theres like a hard cap that even mods cant ignore. I think there are server limitations, probably costs them more or has some sort of backend implications to go higher there. just wondering, what is the purpose of having multiple of the same class?

99% sure it’s just entries in a big data table
most games limit at like 100 to prevent abuse, but it shouldn’t really take a lot of space, it’s all just text

most likely just spaghetti code

I think it is probably server limitation, I just hope they won’t leave it at 9 >.<

I can’t talk for others, but in my case the first was originally created to check some different personalities and play the campaign when it came out. Then another two was made to play with friends who were new to the game and level together.
I kept them around after, because even with the extra slots from the mod, I exceed the number of builds on some of the classes and I use these secondary operatives to store them on. I got about 7-8 extra build on them above the other 12 on their mains. What can I say, I love buildcrafting and trying to make all jankier talents/blessings and their combinations work in at least one build and I can also use different cosmetics with them. Essentially they make my life tremendously easier to switch things up without having to change stuff one by one.

surely they’ll increase it for the update. there is no way they could be that dumb
