Idk either. Seems she likes ‘selfies’ and made it part of her role as cm for this game. Someone at fatshark approved this so what can you do. Not sure what shes trying to communicate with this. Maybe trying to farm some sympathy points in case she pulls some hedge type actions down the line.

There is sensible reason in what she is doing.
She is a Community Manager. Her job is to “manage” the Community and be a face for the company. A mediator. Someone who creates goodwill and gives the unidentifiable (a conglomerate of people) an identity.
Before this strategy, you would think of Fatshark and just think “Okay, some group of people who sell me pixels and they’re fishtank themed”.
Now, you think of Fatshark and visualize this red-haired woman.
It may not be happening in your frontal lobe, but it’s how in the back of our minds our monkebrains work. 
It’s not a personal selfie thing, it’s a humanization strategy to make that which seems inhumane more easy to grasp.

I do agree that an in-game model would have worked better for immersion. I don’t really care either way about seeing the irl face of CatFish, do people really need to be reminded that they’re interacting with other humans?
She’s a very beautiful woman, I’ll say that much. Other than that, I too, was wondering who the red head was.

It helps a lot. Just seeing a Profile Picture or an Avatar actually does dehumanize.
There’s a reason why the internet is more hostile than other places. It’s that people don’t see who or what they interact with, so they just take whatever is written as text as sole bases for their response.
