Who is the red head woman in the updates and just why?

Luckily I think gender norms and expectations around that are fading. Always been a fan of neutrality (social constructs) vs equality (equal yet different and distinct). More and more titles appealing to wider audiences. How many women play tide games? That I don’t know. I was able to convince one of my female friends to play and it was literally just because of the character customization that sold it to her (darktide). If it wasn’t for that she wouldn’t have gotten it. I digress though.

I would totally put that on the work badge.

Imagine your just chilling at work and your boss rocks up and says “we are going to take your photo put this on” and throws some company merch at you. I would pull this face for every photo.

Just letting you know, I’m not getting into unsafe topics here such as politics or religion. My comment you quoted was for entertainment purposes to the common reader and my opinions on this topic are undisclosed.
Don’t take it the wrong way, this just can’t end well.

I didn’t take it seriously… I am reckless for bringing up hot topics. Gotta put that philosophy degree to some use to get my money’s worth :stuck_out_tongue:

You varlets fall for anything. The name “Catfish” should have been a dead give-away. It’s really Hadron using AI to generate a random QT.

That’s some techno heresy here

Lol.

You gotta watch out. There’s people around here, like me, that also got useless degrees and like to argue about stuff. Don’t think i won’t spend 100 posts on whether or not Up exists as an objective or subjective concept.

I LOVE objective vs subjective arguments. A lot of people confuse them. Especially relative and absolute. That adds another important layer (similar yet different). And on what layers you are speaking about (Metaphysical vs personal). For example, I may be a moral subjectivist AND relativist on a meta-ethical scale but on a personal level I apply absolute moral rules of Utilitarianism and a Kantian value in honesty YET also, due to meta ethical beliefs, also accept that those same values are subjective to my experiences and also culturally relative. Then for metaphysics I go existence monism, which inevitably leads to Hard Determinism, Atheism, B-Theory (for time), and Existential Nihilism.

But I digress.

No idea where all of that fits in but “Up” exists as a tearjerker of a Movie.

Catfish is honestly pretty awesome. She has the patience of a chopping block and she has a pretty upbeat attitude.

She is, whether or not people are willing to say it, part of what is bringing this game back from the brink. So, kudos.

It had some good moments. If I had to make recommendations with things that possess a heavy philosophical influence though (that aren’t documentaries) off the top of my head:

i heart huckabees (lower case “i” is intentional in the title)
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead
My dinner with Andre
Waiting for Godot
Cloud Atlas (from the lense of activism)

TV series
Ergo Proxy
Psycho-Pass
Casshern Sins; Ruin is the salvation of man and machine.

This was trippy as hell. Welcome to hell.

You’re tempting me really hard to write up something mildly entertaining and awfully stupid. If you lose braincells, don’t blame me:

Summary

This is a really good theory. Imagine Catfish actually being Hedge’s alter ego. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!
She (Catfish) never really existed, the dubious villainious fishtank company Fatshark just created the illusion like an Anglerfish would. And they got us hook, line and sinker.
Don’t you see people?! It’s a conspiracy! A sea conspiracy!

This explains why Hedge stopped posting and explains the absence of Aqshy, too.
It was a grand corporate move to slash fishtank costs in these financially hard times. Putting the salmon on ice, as they say. Hedge, being forced into a living situation similiar to the protagonist from Fight Club works two positions from the bottom of his aquarium, having to pretend to be a Catfish in the process as his mind is cast into the deep.

But this isn’t the end of this deep and perilious ocean. In fact, it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
While Fatshark Catfish (or Fatshark Hedge to be precise) is busy working double time from his fishtank, Fatshark as a company is scheming further moves to reduce their fish upkeep costs in the future: They are working on a top secret Breeding Program in the middle of the atlantic ocean, creating genetical enhanced Community Managers from scratch.
This is the true reason for the Ingame Cash Shop, as the income stream from the game sales just wasn’t enough to cover the lab fees and the scientist wages. It also explains the game’s fluent but steady progress. Their main fish are not in the big fishtank, they are in that underwater lab creating the next generation of super sharks.
This way Fatshark seeks to conquer and control this watery world - By moderating forums world wide and outpacing Finding Nemo movie sales with their Tide game sales, spreading their fishy influence through subtle manipulation of the streams of water and even time itself.
