Can’t really disagree with this, but I always live with a certain amount (a lot) of copium we get a Jim Sterling + Warframe style situation where a big tuber/streamer uses all this ammo we’ve crafted to get some changes made because the only thing most game companies respond to is the the threat of bad press.
Sic Mister Mugsy on Fatshark
they should hire him as the office manager and he can go 'round and make sure everyone is up to task daily!
Imagine getting sent to the Manager’s Office just to get chewed out by an IRL Veteran of the Astra Militarum
Summon Maxor! We require his sentient editing software!
Lets be real, DT is NOT a real GaaS. It’s just a label FS slapped on so they can justify charging exorbitant prices in poorly implemented MTX systems.
At least all the hopium is gone that FS would ramp up after the Xbox release… Back to the reality that FS management is just laughably incompetent and greedy.
Not enough? I think you meant to say none… None at all is going on.
It is mind boggling how they keep wasting the potential of this game for short term greed. Jesper Kyd and the talented sound, art designers, people responsible for the combat and the voice actors deserve better than this leadership. Such a waste.
I am really curious what will the next update or dev blog entail…
Mr mugsy when overpriced recycled cosmetics
Mr mugsy when overpriced cosmetics have copy pasted lore
That gets me every-time… All the teams: art, animation, music, sound, and etc are firing on all cylinders. It’s a real shame all that talent is being constantly de-railed by a handful of seemingly incompetent and most definitely greedy execs and managers. Seems like par-for-the course these days, but still, feels bad man.
Reality is often disappointing
Well, they haven’t gone completely dark. Their twitter feed has a post every couple of days for the last few weeks.
All just meaningless screenshots or merchandising ads though. I suspect they aren’t saying anything because they have nothing to say. Which is unfortunate.
Back for the first time in months, hoping for any news that people are at least back in the office.
Dont gemme wrong, it’s great that they dropped actual viable content before break this time. In aggregate, three levels and some new weapons and Microsoft support with crossplay and the new class system are fat, sizeable, meaty improvements. Well done, Fatshark.
But that’s what we should have had at launch, and the other problems are still glaring. Let’s talk about that crafting system, Fatshark, where’s that last part of it?
MTX sales must be good since they don’t even bother with us anymore
Judging from the lack of people in Chem Dog drip (seriously it’s like 1 in every 20), I’m not so sure.
I think it’s just a pure lack of anything substantial to say. Crafting and MTX will not be changed, so they’re saying nothing.
With the prices that Fatshark is charging for them, those are still profiting numbers
One can dream. Learning about what’s up and coming is cool and all, but there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff that I’d really like to read more about; stuff like the Carnival Level Design post, for instance, was cool to see! Obviously, it was in part to hype up the release of the new maps, but getting to see what sort of work went into designing any arbitrary level would be just as interesting, and the same applies to any other systems e.g.
- how did you hope to improve upon it from Vermintide (if applicable), what were the goals when designing the system, what sort of decisions/tradeoffs were made and why, were there any ideas that were scrapped, is there any things you’d like/plan to improve upon?
Yeah, I agree. They should show us some work. The more teasers the better. It builds hype (=
Counterpoint: this community has demonstrated that any deviation from the promises made provokes further annoyance.
Fatshark, rather than putting in the effort required to keep from making promises they can’t keep, has apparently opted to instead say nothing.
If we don’t say anything no one can hold us accountable for anything.
