Some talents/blessings proc on weak spot hits. What part of the Mauler is considered its weak spot? The head, even though it’s carapace?
Flak chest, but if you’re building a Zarona revolver may as well go Carapace for Crushers and go for the head on Maulers. Most enemies that are flak are going to die in one hit anyway from Zarona.
It’s still the head, you can test this in Psykanium with things like Uncanny Strike.
Weak Spot as in actually considered WS by game for procs, still head for maulers.

does the new weakspot on flamers proc any on weakspot hit conditions? you get weakspot markers for hitting the tank even though it doesn’t do any more damage.

Correct. But unless your weapon does good damages against carapace, you should aim torso.
It seems to properly consider it a WS and proc the blessing, it also seems to add more dmg (?).
I haven’t traced the Lua to see if it’s doing it properly, just going by healthbar numbers after uncanny strike proc.
Head. I got a headshot penance for shooting ‘X headshots without missing.’
Mauler really helped with that. Got it by accident, all on the same mauler.
But the head is also carapace, so it’s usually better not to go for headshots if you want to kill, but go for it if you need to proc something.
Yes, you can check it in the Psykanium. Weak spot damage is colored yellow iirc. Normal is white, and critical strike is orange.
