What it Suicide Rats exploded when pushed back and their explosions damaged other enemies around them? And most importantly...if AI bots sigmar-damned actually fired at them for once!?

Bonus points if one suicide rat triggered another’s explosion.

Right now they feel kinda incomplete and frustrating to deal with, doubly so for melee only careers.

Do that and hey, I wouldn’t mind seeing them in regular games even.

(for that matter, please fix the AI so they fired at ratlings and fire rats again, they did it way back early in the game’s lifespan)

I tried the bomb rat event once, a long time ago. Now I avoid it like the plague!

I think your proposed change would actually be amazing and would allow people to deal with the bomb rats like we do with bursters in Darktide.

Unless they change how the bomb rats work, Im never playing that game-mode again :frowning:

@GreenColoured I like the ideas.

Excellent suggestions. These suicide rats are a permanent curse on the current Chaos Wastes weekly expedition and holy crap they’re frustrating AF to deal with.

  • They don’t trigger each other’s explosions at all. They should detonate each other at least in a small radius.
  • No way to deal with them for melee only characters. You can push them away but then what? If you run up and hit them they explode in your face. Make it so that when you push them away, they hit the ground and explode where they land.
  • Shields should be able to block their damage, at least partially
  • The suicide rats seem oddly resistant to AOE attacks. I tried using the conflag staff on them but it would just stagger them and not detonate them, even at a full charge. Similarly the fireball staff will often only get 1 or 2 even when I fire a fully charged fireball right into a horde of them.

There’s also just wayyyy too freaking many of them. They’re constantly spawning in large groups, and even when there’s no other enemies they can be challenging to deal with depending on where you’re positioned. It’s tough for one person to handle a groupe of them because once you hit one, the explosion particles are so big that you can’t see the rest and have to fire blindly, they start getting spread out… ugh.

This modifier was fun to do every now and then by itself for the lols, but man it’s frustrating to actually try to beat it.
