What have your favourite Ogryn synergies been so far after the rework?

I’ve been experimenting with the “Concentrate” skill lately. The ability to give any item, particularly the kickback, an accuracy boost is huge, and synergises well with every hitscan Ogryn weapon. I’ve found that Concentrate and Run-N-Gun stack multiplicatively, significantly boosting the Kickback’s effectiveness at medium-to-long ranges.

Zealot main here. I thought I give Ogryn a go after rework. Logged in and he has Butcher 3 and Ripper 2 equipped. Feels that long.

Quick research on good weapon off internet. Put on Bully 3b, Perks - Unyielding & Carapace, Blessings - Thunderous & Skull Crusher. 5 fast light chain attacks seems to “almost” match TTK as a DS on Crusher 3-4 secs and constant stagger so Crusher can’t overhead counter. If a bunch of them, just head stagger whichever going for overhead first and selectively play Pop Up Hammer game.

Skill tree has A LOT of nodes for rewarding hitting even if light attack. “Hit or stagger enemy and get more damage..” etc.

Mind you Zealot has like 6-7 nodes for damage reduction making him more mobile tank.

Starting to see why a lot of players switching to Ogryn and seeing a lot more of them. I think people going to question this being too effective in balance as not just carapace it can knock Bulwark shields stagger on first hit to get to head and then also monstrosity effective weapon.

Then horde wise the same light chain is effective too because it is so fast in swings left to right in sweeping motion without needing to reset from one side.

It feels like impact and stamina Ogryn’s synergistic stats where other classes would be stacking crit chance (or peril on psyker.)

karsolas and lower left cleave node go well together too.

even with flak/maniac, the slaughterer/wrath combo goes through hordes like butter and the pull special with a charged overhead almost oneshots crushers despite not having carapace on it.

if you’re going until auric maelstrom its one very effective combo with the grenadier gauntlet for debuffing carapace/unyielding from afar and the gauntlets special melts bosses reliably as well.

havoc though i’d recommend the toughness recharge from confident strike as secondary blessing on the krourk IV as mentioned in my guide.

My favorite Ogryn synergies have been carrying around objectives and dodging, barging around like a choo-choo train.

The best synergy for me is when more than 1 friend joins me to charge on cooldown. We also have side bets on who picks up our other buddy the most. Fun times!

I like feeling free in my grenade choice and being able to pick and choose my late tree boosters to fit my weapon combinations.

The Bash and Blast to Spray and Slay with other surrounding boons is particularily fun with quick reload ranged and fast melee weapons.

I am disappointed in choices around auras beside left trees don’t seem very useful.

I love ‘Back Off!’ with the Rumbler, getting a free grenade every couple of kills feels awesome.

I love ‘Slam + Pumped Up’, it’s a simple synergy, but a good one, and having actual stamina regen and control on an Ogryn just feels so nice, it’s on every one of my builds and I’m not sure I could ever take it off.

Great Cleaver makes so many things viable, I have a full light attack shield build for the first time ever in this game and thanks to Batter also applying on light attacks, it literally just slays out just as well as any heavy attack version. Finally being able to use that ‘used to be always purely decoration’ club is super nice. And stuff like the Bully Club also finally having cleave just feels so good and right.

Brutish Strength feels pretty great too on things like said aforementioned Shield and the Power Maul, just getting free Brittle to reach those nice breakpoints is good stuff.

And just recently finally made and tried out a build with the ‘Bombs Away + Fire Away’ synergy, and that feels pretty nice! Very laggy, but nice seeing the nad properly kill things!

Anyone found anything interesting you can do with this in the new tree? Haven’t retested it not proccing BLO but would be surprised if that changed.

If you want to try to use the special fairly heavily has anyone found a good spec for that?

well, as stated in my guide video it 90%kills reapers in go, kinda neat if you pass em by on your way to the the more annoying stuff, not having to lose time on em.

other than that in the time i had i was going for the most melee optimized route, one the gg oneshots snipers anyways

two as to not be ammo hog with the limited mag it has(though 50 gets me through C I VI, usually)

third, so far i’m not a fan of the x%propabilities, ogryn deals in hard knocking absolutes :rofl:

bonk always hits.

besides, going back n forth on a boss leaves ample time to get them 5 specials in manually.
by then the team should have done its part… yeah,…should… whatever :sweat_smile:

Was decent for crusher damage but other things do it better so never bothered with this weapon special.

Maybe with crunch or burning build

Yeah I figure going a melee spec and just punching things when it’s convenient is probably the play, but man explosion radius and burn dots is tempting, it’s a shame so little else in right tree really interacts with it.

I’m pretty sure crunch will only boost the melee hit, not the explosion, though I haven’t tested that post tree update. I don’t know how much the punch part contributes now, I’m just sad the explosion part still barely interacts with anything in the tree.

Yah it did proc Crutch before no Thrust silly me. It still does on melee component but damage so minimal. Only thing it seems capable for is procing Fire Away with close range burn but its all silly damage other than box of boom with ult burns maybe for bosses.

All of it is nice but the real joy of this update is not getting stuck by a single pox walker when a better is nearby. :heart:

Never seen so many Ogryn players this much before. Every mission at least 1 or frequently 2.

Good time to be other classes. Free meat shields!
