What do you think Fatshark is working on?

Killing Floor 2 is having free weekend and it’s on sale for £1. Lots of players online and thought I jump back in with my old demolition class I used to get kicked for using years ago.

Still a blast. I forgot it even had solo offline mode, the game lives on. No battlepass, quick progression, no grind. Just plain simple old school FPS. They had overpriced weapon DLCs, but game was so much fun still without them I never bought. No map DLC, all included for releases so no split playerbase in match making.

I hope with Killing Floor 3 they learn from “others” mistakes in the industry but I was very happy with Killing Floor 2.

Payday 3 - Damn that playercount is harsh. The whole active playerbase probably all in the same friends list by now. One time it was at 200. They can’t turn this around. It was clearly unfinished product at launch but they released it too early anyway.

Currently only game caught my attention is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl releasing in September. Holy 150GB drive space required.

Yes. KF 2 is a game I played a massive amount on PS 4 before I switched over to PC. It might be my most played game on console. I even got a good amount of hours on PC. I also didn’t buy any of the weapon dlcs on either platform and still had a blast.

This is what makes me a bit worried. I don’t want to see a game/franchise I loved so much torpedo itself to death again, with the potential of killing the franchise.

The fact that we will probably never get another Dawn of War game again hurts my soul. And even by some miracle if we do it will probably suck again like 3 hurts even more.

There is also Den of Wolves, from the old Dev of PD1 who left, and made GTFO, it’s one of the game I’m the most hopeful for

I’ve heard it’s name mentioned around the PD community a bit but I haven’t looked into it much besides that.

I know that some people considered Rockay: Crime boss to be a potential “Payday Killer” but from what I heard and saw it had an awful launch and is completely dead now. Hopefully Den doesn’t have the same fate.

I own all the PS consoles. I do remember years ago they even gave the game for free as part of PSN subscription as long as you’re subbed.

Takes a bit of willpower but skip buying day 1. 1/2 months, buy on sale, buy steam key etc.

It is a shame GTFO doesn’t get more players. Just like Ready Or Not I like that all gear unlocked and you choose gear based on team loadouts for synergy. No battlepass, grind etc straight into it.

The games do have hardcore nature to them, heavily team work based. So random matching yields hilarious fails. It is nature of the game, just hope team mechanics in this new game won’t make it too hardcore like that. Yea I could use discord to find an organised team, but sometimes I just want a quick jump in and out with randoms.

I didn’t day one buy/pre-order for Payday 3 or Dragon’s Dogma 2 and both of those decisions payed off, so don’t worry about me on that front. I’m trying to remember the last game I pre-ordered and I’m really not sure. I think NMS burned me so hard I stopped doing it completely, even if I have fun playing NMS now.

I wanted to try GTFO but no one I knew wanted to get it so I passed on it. I’ve had a ton of fun with Ready or Not however. And I agree it’s refreshing just having any set up you want ready to go. Also makes it a lot easier to play a game every now and than, rather than feeling you have to grind it out consistently.

I agree, while hardcore team based games certainly have a place, I hope it’s hard enough to be interesting but doesn’t require enough coordination to make playing with randoms unfun.

This is from Press Start which is an Australian gaming news website. Idk if its any good or not but 10 Chambers linked it themselves and quoted this paragraph specifically.

I assume this means that it will be harder but more easily quick playable. Or at the very least, easier to teach someone how to play it.

However obviously that’s just words and who knows how it will end up. However it seems cool and I will definitely be keeping my eye on it.

I’m still really confused about why there are so many Swedish game companies making coop games. Must be something in the air over there.

I hope it let people play with random more than it did in GTFO.

Like PD1/2 with random isn’t easy sure, but it’s not GTFO difficult

For the third project? Given the engine switch, I figured it was something they were doing for someone else, not their own project.

So, VT3 then

I can’t honestly care. Fatshark has shown that you shouldn’t get excited.

Keep in mind that they lost their combat lead. The guy that worked on both Vermintide and darktide. last thing he did was the class overhaul. That plus having to redo everything in the new engine…

I never had any hopes to begin with but I don’t expect it to bring anything to the table.

Their own downfall, of course.
