i miss the most underrated but fun blessing in vt2, parry
which was basically giving you 100% block cost reduction upon doing perfect blocks, rewarding people doing perfect timed blocks and giving 100% bcr which was actually good if mastered well.
imo way so good for real good players that it was easily better than using swift slaying
but yea blessings doing just damage is just boring
try trauma out, it sounds worse on the stat page but it has an unmentioned stagger duration buff per stack, which works out to 61% longer stagger duration at T4 and 5 stacks. this is how I use the ironhelm thunderhammer at all without hating everything and everyone.
Strange nobody talking about Thunderous, absolutely goated on Arbitrator’s Maul and Ogryn’s Club due to fast attack speed. It heavily boosts yours and teams damage output against bosses and most elites/specials.
I am going to be the heretic and say that I think Thrust is one of the best designed blessings that I will never use.
It has a high opportunity cost. Hitting the target with two heavies is faster and more damaging than charging up Thrust. Amazing synergy popping out of Shroudfield or with some similar one-hit wombo combo but a net loss compared to something like Headtaker or Slaughterer the rest of the time.
So, well designed because it represents a real gameplay/playstyle decision but not for me.
Outside of Shroud field and Paul it is still a massive DPS loss sadly. Used to be decent with Pickaxe + Crunch as you could oneshot Crushers before the elite HP buff.
I just wish Thrust should be baked in for the most two-handed “heavy” melee weapons, like they did for the new Ogryn Hammer.
I also think it could one of the few blessings that could give you rending the more you hold it.
