What are your thoughts on the 5 difficulty levels?

This is why L4D will always have the best designed specials. Their HP is constant across all difficulties, only their AI and aggression improves along with their damage scaling. So they can always be a threat, but not because of how long they’re surviving artificially.

Well it’s a little different because L4D doesn’t have a gear progression system. As long as there’s an gear grind in place, HP will have to scale with difficulty to match teams with better gear.

Not that I like how we’re grinding for gear now currently.

Malice (3) seems reasonable as a core competency level. I feel like this maps pretty close to Champion from VT2. Heresy (4) was definitely a bump up from Malice, but I went into it at level 30 and pretty well-geared I think. I only died when I blew myself up for too much peril.

I have 700+ hours in VT2 and so Heresy didn’t feel too bad compared to Legend. Maybe a hare more difficult, but I can basically solo carry legend at this point so it isn’t the best frame of reference.
