I’m refering to the hive scum talent:
”sprinting for 1s grants -12.5% threat for 3s, stacking 4 times. successful dodges refresh the duration”
I couldn’t find anything around because of the penance with the same name.
I’m aware that dropping threat has the inherent downside of switching aggro to an ally, but other than that, how effective is the talent?
how fast will enemies switch targets? how does threat work exactly? i know in general treath considers a lot of factors to determine which player is targeted. does lower threat reduce aggro range?
Will it help at all if I’m the last player standing/alive?
IF it works, I would say FAST. Fatshark enemy “AI” is terrible with stealth classes and other situations a player is no longer targetable. One of the reason why stealth playstyles are widely considered “toxic” and anti-teamplay. Enemies simply don’t have an in-between state between going after a target and switching to another one. They are always “aware” of other player locations. There is no “suprise” state. This is one thing I wish Fatshark addressed if stealth classes and similar mechanics are to be more useful. What should probably happen if a player disappears or loses threat, the enemies which used to go after them, should get staggered to simulate “surprise” etc.
I also BET a free Hive Scum DLC that Untouchable is actually responsible for the recent reports of Pox Bursters and other specials weird behaviour
It would not help at all if you are the last player alive.
It’s not very helpful. 1 out 4 enemies will stop targeting you and will target an ally instead (instantaneously), something around that. It’s nice when it happens with bulwarks and crushers, useless in any other instances. Consider that the -90% threat for vet is not reliable, this gives you -50%.
This is my opinion at least.
