Combat shotguns needs some love too…
Semi auto can one shot close all human normal size on veteran. And it is pretty good for ogryns.
But, I agree that the headhunters are clearly not the best.
You have forgotten, as ranged weapon, the stub autopistol. This one needs really something to be done…
For Devil’s claw, I am not sure. My problem is that it seems better with critical build, and then the others blessings are a little useless. But there’s a long time I did not play with it.
DS is too strong. Or this weapon should not deal with hordes like that, or it has to be nerfed against carapace. Also, the special seems a little too good. So don’t take this weapon as a reference.
Compare to heavy sword, this is the direct competitor, even if it achieves same kind of damages (horde clearer both), but they don’t use same blessings, nor the same gameplays. For me, the devil’s claw is under heavy sword. But I have not tested devil’s claw for a long time, at contrary of heavy sword that I played 2 weeks ago.
I have did several insane runs with this weapon. This is far from an evis, but you have to much mobility that it is still great. However, this is not the best weapon for sure.
Not really good… like others IAG other than columnus mkV. In fact, the problem is that the best of the best is the IAG columnus (the one with low damages), after we could find the brauto agri. But brauto are not precise and IAG do better. Here is the problem.
They should or bufgf the entire families (brauto + iag) and then nerf columnus, or buff all others than the columnus. Columnus is fine, all other options are really far less interesting.
Going back and working on neglected weapons to master, not really sure what the purpose of the Devil’s Claw sword is since it tickles Maulers and Crushers, I’m guessing you run that you need to carry something like a bolter or plasma gun to kill them in something resembling a reseasonable timeframe.

Agreed, a massively overrated weapon which is only good for parry. Also doesn’t help that it has the most redundant and bloated blessing pool, it was impossible to get a good one before the itemization update.
You use it so that sweat lords don’t call you a crutch user on the internet.
Sorry you’re not allowed to use the cool sword you have to use the turd on the stick, using the cool sword ruins the game.
Would be nice seeing the balance team explain why anyone would choose the catachan sword over power sword and duelling sword or any other veteran melee options.

Other weapons that feel really subpar are the tac and combat axes. For weapons with next to no cleave you’d think they’d be REALLY good at taking out single targets but they pale in comparison to other weapons that are still vesatile enough to still let you contribute when fighting a hoard.

I love my tac axe, every time I try to get used to something else on zealot I I just end up going back to it. It’s a pretty respectable all rounder with a slight single target focus.
It’s just not broken like alternatives. (Cough, dueling sword, cough)
Push attack into heavy attack, repeat gives it decent horde control.

Which mark? I did slog through the combat axe and yeah outside of it’s push attack I’d hit one guy and the axe would stop. Still need to do the tac axe or just start mass buying and saccing them.
I still prefer a weapon that can handle hordes and at least has an option to do something to armored targets like maulers or crushers like an Chainsword, Eviscerator, or a Thunder Hammer for my Zealot.
