Weapon Perk "Reload Speed" does not work

The weapon Perk “Reload Speed” doesn’t seem to do anything at all. I’ve tested this with Helbore MKIII, Ripper Gun MKII, Plasma Gun and Boltgun. None of them seem to benefit from having the Reload Speed perk, even with a maximum of 10%.

I even went ahead and recorded a comparison of a few guns, a pair of MKIII Helbore Lasguns, one with 10% Reload Speed and one with none. And a pair of MKII Ripper Guns, one with 8.5% and one with none. In both cases, counting frame-by-frame in a 60fps recording there was no noticeable difference.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Have “Reload Speed” perk
  2. Shoot gun
  3. Reload gun

Thanks for the report. Would it be possible for you to upload that video you recorded of this?

Not sure how helpful it’ll be to you, honestly, but sure: Broken Reload Speed Stat: Helbore - YouTube

just to add to this: using same methods i could not reproduce on zealot, appears to be working perfectly including a weapon that has overlap with this bug (a bolter). do both vet and ogryn have abilities that influence reload speed that are overwriting and zealot does not maybe?

Thank you both for the video and the additional feedback! I don’t have an answer to that question, but it has been logged with the issue.

I cannot reproduce. My only theory is the reload speed getting dumped by switching weapons in the meatgrinder, losing stats on switch was a bug.

I went back and tested my old results and was still got the same numbers yet again. But clearly something is going on so I kept at…

I decided to try a few different video players, and a video editor. All of these new programs seem to agree, to a T. And show the stat is working properly. So it seems like the player I was using has something weird going on with its “Skip Frame” feature. I don’t know what the issue is, my numbers using it were very consistent. But there were error in the margin I just chalked up to me miscounting, since it was only ever a difference of 10 frames at most. I’m sorry for the bad report, and thanks to those who corrected me.

Hey, thanks for double-checking! These things happen, but it’s good to get closure on something that couldn’t be reproduced.
