Weapon Mesh Glitches

Issue Description:
All weapons will, at random, have visual errors with their models. Possibly changing to lower poly versions, given that the errors are at least somewhat consistent in terms of what is wrong with them. It happens with all weapons, both ranged and melee, and has been an issue for me since the open beta.

Steps to Reproduce:

Unknown, it seems to happen randomly, possibly right after a slight drop in performance.

Often, most missions it seems to happen, occasionally it fixes itself just as randomly as it starts.

It may be related to the issue I and many others have been having with Mesh Streaming on Ryzen 5xxx gpus – if you have one as well this fix might help: No reticle when ADS lasrifles - #18 by Kettun
It’s fixed it for me but caused longer load times and lower framerates. It may be worth the hit until it gets fixed though!

This just makes the problem even more strange, because I’ve got an RTX 2080 Super. I’ll still try the fix, just to see if it fixes the issue.

Whoops! I meant ryzen 5xxx CPUs (processors)! Still, it may be affecting others as well, pretty sure it’s mesh streaming related though, hopefully the fix works for ya!

Okay, so I was searching for this and I’m happy I found it. The game just dropped on Xbox and I have this issue on series x every other game if not every game I play. It is truly an eyesore. First noticed it on the bolter just like the images shown but it looks like it can affect just about every weapon. So a year later after console release it appears that this is still a huge problem. Not certain of a possible fix. Tried switching to the graphical priority mode and that didn’t help and absolutely tanked fps. It was basically unplayable.

Me as well, just made a new post on it even and I remember it from Beta :confused:

Seems to trigger from “something” (ability use, specialist spawning or something) … will get a brief FPS deop and then texture break — also seen it affect a few railings and world textures as well which was a shock recently as I thought it was just weapons (and ADS related stuff).

Hope this one day gets fixed, pretty annoying and screws with my aim on veteran quite a bit

It is very weird that there is “LOD” for first person models, rather than force them to be maximum detail models.
For everything else that is not close to your face, LOD makes sense.
