Weapon (and interface) Suggestions

I’ve been playing the game since beta, and so I’ve had a lot of time to get to grips with most of the weapons in the game. I like what’s been done to improve the Shrine of The Omnisiah, but I think more can be done to improve the weapons. A few ideas I’d like to put forward:

  1. More skin customization - This is something a friend of mine, who’s also played this game since Beta, has mentioned to me. She’s said she’d like some of the weapons better (particularly the guns) if they had proper sights on them. It would be nice if there were more variations you could get for some of these weapons, like being able to put holo-sights on them (like the ones on the infantry lasgun) or a scope with some kind of zoom feature to them. Doing this would allow players to get the look of their gun down how they likes, as well as tinker with it fitting their preferred play style.

  2. Give all Helbore rifles the bayonet thrust attack - As someone who enjoys playing as a Death Korps veteran, whenever I put on that skin, 4 times out of 5 I’ll be deploying with the tried-and-true Helbore and trench tool in hand. However, the gun is slow to swap out, but that’s OK, as it has a melee attack with the bayonet…only there’s one little problem. only one of the Helbore variants does a fast bayonet thrust, while the others do a slower bayonet swipe. I think it would be better if all the Helbore did a stab instead of a swing with the bayonet, as it would allow players to more effectively fight with the rifle, even at close quarters.

  3. Add a way to adjust weapon stats - The Shrine allows us to swap out blessings and perks; it would be nice if we could also swap out the %-based modifiers too. I’d be fine with limiting the number of times you can do this with a given weapon, or requiring you to sacrifice a weapon to swap one of its mods to another weapon of the same make, model, and rating level, but it can feel frustrating when you’ve fine-tuned a weapon to where you’ve got everything where you want it…except for that one modifier.

4)Expand weapon comparing - Right now you can only compare a selected weapon to the one you currently have equipped. If we could have a way to compare a selected weapon in the shop to any weapon of the same type (i.e. melee or ranged) we have in our inventory, that would save us the hassle of having to go in and out of multiple menus every time we want to compare two different weapons.

5)Expand weapon selling - Again, like the weapon comparisons, if I buy one weapon to replace another, I can only sell the old one from the operative menu. If we could be allowed to sell weapons from the shop menus or the shrine menu, then it would be a time saver.

So, that’s all I have to suggest for now. Anyone else here have any suggestions?

Allow me to help signpost: The Crafting Memorial; lest we forget - #1743 by hgjw

Honestly, the queue starts a long way back there…

But I genuinely feel optimistic. They said changing the crafting system would take months. And we’ve not heard from FS since end of November, so … my spider sense is tingling! IT’S COMING!! I predict a patch this next Tuesday with a full crafting revamp and gunsmith.

Well. Maybe not. But I’ve done what I can now in DT. It’s just about now the game many expected at launch. Good. But I’ve done 800 hours of the same 15 missions… many with the same weapons ! So as soon as the next game comes along that I fancy (and I’ve eyes on you, Horizon II) I’ll be gone for good. Not one to revisit past games.

Sorry. Unncecessary outpouring of emotions there.
