We need to have a serious discussion about balance

At malice, you will feel the power fantasy.
Higher difficulty should not permits you to feel a power fantasy…

But as I said, fatshark defined a new balance. The normal power if actually what you get with a revolver, a plasma gun or a void strike staff. Unless they nerf all meta, they should align all weaker weapons with these guns. And then, bye bye the difficulty.
But then, they can correct that by :

  • reworking all enemies stats (damage they deal and HP): That sounds stupid to buff everything to finally do that, but, that’s the reality
  • introduce a new difficulty: That sounds stupid to introduce a new difficulty in a game that has already 7 (5 in regular + 2 on auric board), but that’s the only other solution if they don’t want to nerf
  • balance weapon instead of buffing weaker weapons: I don’t believe in that. More than 6 months that several too strong weapons are untouched.

Whoever commented here that weapon balance in VT2 was somehow better, you’re a liar.

I tried using Kerillian’s greatsword on 3 different occasions on the course of years. That thing was a heap of junk from release to the day Darktide came out.

This game has infinitely better balancing, because they are actively balancing, or at least having a crack at it.

I do not want to go backward, thank you very much. (can’t believe some goon has rose tinted glasses on, trying to get us to go back to having balance patches once every couple of years)

Maybe if Malice had the spawn amounts of the higher difficulties, but Malice is literally half the experience with how they made difficulty affect enemy stats and spawn rates.
