I play Cata CW only. And since a month or so, i found a bug with her active skill. My buddy “missed” a lot of homing shots against specials.
I like to use the Piercing Shot talent. No homing, but headshot reset its cooldown. The bug hit me as well. Over a longer distance(still in normal range), i hit the wizard into the head, cooldown got a reset, but the guy survived. This is now a thing with wizards.
I dont think its a grey weapon problem in early maps on Chaos Wastes. It was never a problem since its release.
Edit: It feels like the dmg fall off, over a distance is higher than it should be. Skill shot, even in the body, would kill a Wizard. They still get hurt, because a follow up body shot with a grey Javalin or Longbow kill them. This would not work with a fresh enemy.
For quite a few enemies its possible to get a headshot indicator, ability refresh but it’ll still count as a bodyshot and do damage according to that instead. I´ve had it particularly around CW`s with their fat shoulders but also a few others.
Fairly sure piercing arrow bodyshot does not kill either of the rotblood wizards in CW early. So would not be a surprise if it happened to a moving wizard or one where the distance was just large enough to not be perfectly sure where the shot went exactly.
…But i also wouldnt also be surprised if the shot gained fall-off damage somehow.
I experimented a bit more on the modded server with creature spawner. Indeed. With piercing shot, a neckshot does hit the body and refills the ability and wont 1 shot a Wizard with grey items. About the fall off dmg. Tested it. Not a problem. It was just my aiming.
For the homing version. I need to try out more. But i need my buddy with me. Because, as client, he has a high rate of not to kill a WIzard. Even if he does hold the skill key to red outline the target. When i try it as host, its almost impossible for me NOT to hit the head.
