Was 'River of Dreams' the Final Map for Vermintide 2?

Hi Fatshark team,

First of all, thank you for the amazing new map River of Dreams. The atmosphere and design were fantastic, and it was great to see the Skulls 2025 celebration include something for Vermintide fans.

I just wanted to ask — was River of Dreams the final map for Vermintide 2, or can we expect more content in the future?

Thanks again for your continued support of the game!

It’s not the last update for the game at least, as there’s a weapon dlc set for 2026.

Might make sense that a new map would be released alongside it.

(But I don’t think a CM would answer that question, as if not, it’s announcing the sunsetting of the game, and if not set the expectations of new update without ETA, which FS usually try to avoid)

“Thank you for the reply! I was kind of expecting a teaser for the next title after the River of Dreams segment at this year’s Skulls event.
Looks like we’ll have to wait another year for our beloved chubby shark!”

I was about to create a similar topic, I have been playing Vermintide 1 during skulls event and noticed a lot of maps that could be brought about in some way to V2. I would love for a refresh of those maps, new diolgue and a rework to the food/barrel missions.

My suggestion would be to escort the cart to the sections of the map and have a KoTh/horde/defend the area and move on, instead of the bore of having to carry sacks of food across the map.

I would be OK with this being the last “new” map.

They’ve already said that porting maps are basically them redoing the maps from scratch.

In which case I’d prefer to see new maps that aren’t touched upon at all.

Maybe Lustria, being in a LM temple city could be nice

That could be cool. Lending the Lizardmen a hand in their wars with the Skaven.

My guess is that, like for VT1, they’ll do a late release as an introduction to VT3. I think it’s likely they’ll support the game for a while yet: they seem to be getting new players every now and then, and they are - if very slowly - fixing basic things. That being said, I’m really curious to see where the story’ll go, and if I’m honest, for the first time I’m feeling the need for a third chapter after getting used to DT dedicated servers and more polished - less buggy - state.

If any dev is reading this I’d also like to know if Lohner’s journal is at an end.
In any case long live the Ubersreik Bloody Five!

I think at this point in the timeline LM are already escaping, so we could see one, but most likely in a forgotten/abandoned Temple City

FS reworking the mission select screen.. and my brain being attracted to nice evenly spaced icons suggest there’s just one nice little slot left for one more series of maps, hopefully something like the end of VT1 where the Skaven assault the Red Moon. Defending the Keep against an assault and find themselves sent to some far flung place deeper into the end times as Olissia sacrifices herself to ensure they survive. The U5 get to stand alongside Lohner as he fights, escaping through Olissia’s shadow magic to some far flung place.

Lohner has no contacts, no info, nothing. Albion? Lustria? Nekharra? Who knows… but the U5 live and fight on…

Probably. Or just a voice talking to us like in most other Vermintide maps when we don’t actually see the person speaking to us.

I think they are more likely to add icons to the top right, as the ones below belong to the old DLC system and therefore aren’t available to everyone. That’s probably why they are on the second row even if they happen first (my guess is that they didn’t want new players to click on the first available map-pack and assume that everything is pay-to-play)

I kinda like this though, as it’s somewhat easier to see the order of missions than before if you know what’s going on.
