Plus, they did fully animate (although sadly not as enemies) nurglings for the Vermintide halloween events. Would make sense if they were testing the waters for adding in more of the grunt-tier nurgle daemons to vermintide and/or darktide.
I’m pretty sure these vox transmissions are from before we the players ever get involved, and that Wyrmwood is the deamonhost we encounter in game. Her attacker in this last transmission is most likely some kind of chaos sorcerer. The deamonhost has a female voice and is praising the emperor before it gets angry, like she is trying to resist the daemon.
I thought this was the case until recently. The second to last Vox transmission we got has a Vox operator tell Wrymwood that we had been operating for months (3, if the psyker is to be believed) off of her information. She than actively responds to try and get an extract and is killed for her trouble. This would be weird as unless we get some Warp time distortion the Demonhost’s we’ve been fighting shouldn’t have existed.
You forget that this war has been going for sometime now, well before we arrived. Things are just going so bad that they had to bring in conscripted troops to bolster the ranks. They mention multiple times that we are really just doing small stuff, and that dedicated special forces are doing the really important missions.

Sometimes I get a voice line from him whilst playing one of the missions.
It shows up the same way we get the mission prompts from the mission-handler (e.g. Zola, Hadron)
