As a Zealot player, I have recently swapped from the Tactical Axe to a Chainsword, if only for mere curiosity since I have heard just how versatile the weapon is, and finding one of the more optimal loadouts on it.
However, when I use it as a light-spam machine (as is intended with Devastating Strike, I feel like.) I absolutely fail to recognize a lot of sound-cues from the game, because it is horrendously loud.
Given that there is only one volume slider that switches both, the sound-cues as well as the chainsword whirring sound, it seems like it absolutely destroys my ability to properly locate charing mutants, hounds, etc., as well as perceive some of the lighter sounds (like the bomber grenade pling) properly.
One fix could be to either give us separate volume sliders, or simply make the chainsword a little less noisy, cause as it stands, with the additional attack speed Zealot has, and spamming lights on a high finesse weapon, it seems as though all I’m hearing is WRRRR, WRRRR, and most importantly, WRRRRR!
Compared to the Tactical Axe, which I have at this point switched back to, it’s night and day. Spamming the Axe feels 100% better, just because all I hear is subtle thunks and slashes that aren’t disruptive at all.
