It exists in Vermintide 2 and it’s very helpful. In the chaos of battle, a simple line saying “Here, take this!” can often go unheard by the players who are receiving any stims or crates and people generally don’t pay attention to if they have received an item or not.
So implementing this QOL feature would greatly help in tightening the cooperation between players because then they would actually know that they received an item from a fellow player and cause it to heal or get out of any future, sticky situation they could find themselves in.
I, on the other hand, had many situations where people miss a crate or a grimoire and I had a crate on me already so I just gave them to the players with free space to get the things they missed. This unfortunately often ended in them never using the things I gave them since there wasn’t enough indication for them to notice that I gave them something.
I fear if that’s the direction that indicator should address, ignorant players will stay this way even if the whole screen was filled up.
thought it was rather an improvement to the already perceptive and attentive player.
had so many braindead psykers refusing to pick the ammo crate, force feeding them the damn thing (while satisfying “schluck du luder”)
they’d run the entire match without dropping even if the rest was “red”
had some of those tards as well over the years.
so until now i rather consumed whatever there was, picked the second one myself and dropped it when the rest truly was in need, than to “rely” on some random
