Hello
A long time ago, I made a post asking for specialties on the what is now OG classes. I focused on the Veteran because that is my main and what I know best. Those posts didn’t receive a lot of traction largely due to the raging debate regarding crafting at the time (yes it was that long ago)
I want to try again because the Veteran got power creeped hard by Arbites. I have been playing it and I can see how absurdly strong it is. It is practically immune to Tox Gas. I am fighting hordes in Tox Gas even at high difficulty. It has the ammo capacity to take care of anything not in Bonk Range. Its Arbites Grenade is a concussion grenade that can stagger and or mini stun ANY enemy except monstrosities and bosses. I enjoy disrupting groups of Ragers with it
To that end.. I think the Veteran and the other classes should get Specialties to better define their roles in the game and to bring them in line with this new strength. Here are my thoughts on what that could be:
Marksman/Sniper Specialty - Focuses on mobility and long range strikes. Gains the old Optical Camo to reduce the odds of enemies wanting to attack it when covering friendlies. It can have Two branches.. One using a Hot Shot Las and the other a Marksman Bolt Carbine. The Hot Shot Las line can focus on more mobility while the Bolt sheds a little of mobility for more hard hitting strikes (stagger and damage)
Brawler - Focuses on switching between melee and gun fighting. I was thinking its two lines can be Shotgun and Axes, then Pistols and Swords/Chain weaponry. One is a hard hitting line while the other is intended for groups of enemies. It will get the Field Improvisation passive. Between that and the versatile combat, it will set it apart from the Zealot
Anti Tank - Focuses on using the older Bolter or Plasma Gun to deal massive damage to Monstrosities or Bosses. If it takes the Plasma line, it gains a backpack that helps with Heat and Ammo capacity specific to the Plasma. If it takes the Bolter line, it gains additional ammo and focuses on attacking multiple targets rapidly
That is the summary of my thoughts. Any thoughts, opinions or otherwise?
