Vertical Blocking Angle and Ranged Attacks (Client-side)

Issue Type (Required):

Player Mechanics

Issue Description (Required):

The vertical blocking angle (looking up or down while blocking) has not worked properly against ranged attacks (Ratling Gunner) as a client since 6.6.0 (Well of Dreams + Skulls update in late May) .

When blocking Ratling Gunner bullets with a large enough difference in elevation - for example, if the slope is steep enough (if the Gunner is at the bottom of a hill or just under a ledge) - you will notice that your shield does not block the bullets at all. This is quite noticeable on stairs and areas with big elevation changes, such as the path after the mid-map event on Old Haunts.

This bug occurs only for clients

Also, the old bug when enemies can ignore block is still here (but now it happens not as often as before and mostly during revive/rescue)

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Easiest way:

  1. Jump (while blocking with a shield) right in front of the Ratling Gunner (if you aren’t host - it will deal damage).

Map-related:

  1. Stay on any elevation on the Fortunes of War map while blocking and looking down with a Ratling Gunner almost directly under you.

General:

  1. Find a staircase, stand on the top of the staircase with a Ratling Gunner at the bottom.
