Vermintide 2 - Game not launching

I’ve been trying for a while to launch the game, however it doesn’t seem to work. When I double tap the game on Steam, it says its running, but not even the launcher itself runs.

I did try to bypass the launcher, by running the game directly but didnt work and i got this error

I’ve tried a few of the solutions I found over the forums etc to no avail, including verifying game cache’s and even reinstalled it.

Tried the net framework install, but as it turns out my PC is already up to date

I’ve got about 300 ish hours on the game, and would rather not my progress go waste over something like this, any help is appreciated.

I wonder if your display adapter may be being set incorrectly.

Please try the following -

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
  4. Open your user_settings.config file
  5. Find the setting named adapter_index
  6. Change this setting value to adapter_index = 1*
  7. Save your user_settings.config file
  8. Launch Vermintide 2 as usual

*If your ‘adapter_index’ setting is already set to 1, then try changing this to 0 instead.
