I’ve been thinking about doing a thread where we confess things that some may think are dumb or weird or just unusual about how you play Verm. Maybe you always open a certain box, or walk a certain path. Or there’s some kind of oddity to how you play. Here’s my confession. I’ve played Verm 2 since Xbox beta, and Verm 1 since Xbox release before that. I’ve never intentionally dodged in either game. I play with left handed controls, so my right thumb stick is controlling movement and my left is controlling aiming. It’s basically impossible for me to pick a direction and hit the dodge button at the same time. I’d have to take my trigger finger off and curl it under to hit the A button for dodge. It’s too awkward to do and still control shots and blocking, so I just don’t do it. It makes a really odd play style when you can’t dodge. I have to make sure to keep distance from grabbing specials, and my movement has to be very precise to use my legs to get out of danger instead of dodging out of it. Anyone else have an odd way of playing or anything else strange?

Bumper jumper. If you want to play the game you need do have dodge up there. Removing thumbs from the sticks is a no go. And console still doesn’t have custom mapping.

And I’ve spent most of it with the Dwarf, Saltzphyre also had the honor to be used by a goof like me. And TODAY I finally found out that you can shoot that god damn pistol that comes with the Rapier. It does not much damage, probably oneshots legend trash enemies and does no Armor Piercing but still. You have UNLIMITED Ammo. I wonder if I blew some minds on this forum or am I really the only goof around here. It was nowhere written tho. I was rebinding … Another thing (but that’s something I am not embarrassed about) I can sum up in a two-word-sentence: F*ck meta.

I almost never play Slayer or GK and when I do play slayer, I always take throwing axes. If I can’t snipe specials with my character, then I might as well commit sudoku.

If Microsoft ever makes an Elite controller that won’t break when you cough on it, I might switch to that. My friend uses the paddle attachments to do certain actions, and I could probably get the dodge function on that.

Whichever bot has annoyed me the most on my bot-book runs I give tomes to so they can’t heal and will die first. Not the grim, of course.

I regularly reset the progress on my personal account because I’m addicted to starting over as a “new” player

I´ve played longbowstalker way more than i ever should have and i still have episodes where i shoot just about anything except my intended target. My trueflight arrows fly by the same creed. Actually had a case where i shot them into a horde and they just flat out flew past the horde, over a wall and hit a chaos patrol way off in the distance, i had not marked them and i didnt know they were there. I played slayer only for quite some time after that.

Even though I’m pretty decent at consistently and accurately hitting heads with the melee weapons I’m used to, my aim with ranged weapons is sometimes absolute crap, somehow. Whiffing shots left and right. Can’t-hit-a-nearby-target-with-a-handgun level crap. Those days I just go “screw it” and I take a flamethrower.

I actually don’t like melee system in this game and stay in mostly because of that juicy fire magic and some other ranged stuff. Isn’t it wacky to dislike melee fight in first person hack and slash game?
