Various veteran upper body cosmetics suffer incorrect muscle rendering/clipping

This problem persists through all upper body cosmetic pieces that share the same glove designs, including but may not be limited to:

  • Dead-eye’s duty uniform
  • Dead-eye’s sentry uniform
  • Dead-eye’s punishment uniform
  • Killshot’s punishment uniform
  • Killshot’s day uniform
  • Pistolero’s duty uniform
  • Pistolero’s dress uniform
  • Pistolero’s day uniform
  • Pistolero’s punishment uniform
  • Pistolero’s sentry uniform
  • Shooter’s duty uniform
  • Shooter’s day uniform
  • Shooter’s dress uniform
  • Shooter’s punishment uniform
  • Shooter’s sentry uniform
  • Battlegear (mortis operative)

In addition to the ones above, 2 other upper body cosmetics from the premium shop have issues with gloves having incorrect muscle rendering/clipping:

  • Moebian 178th heavy flak (grimwald campaign)
  • Militarum heavy battlegear (protectus pattern IX)
  • this one has been reported as having other incorrect muscle rendering/clipping issues with the sleeves in one of my previous posts, but I didn’t notice the gloves at the time

In terms of actual clothing or armor clipping:

  • Battlegear (mortis operative) upper body piece has shoulder pads clip with the pouch straps on several occasions
  • The elbow pads on Battlegear (mortis operative), various penance gear & commissary items clip into arms in various stances
  • Krieg greatcoat Mk1 upper body piece has its collars clip with various headpieces

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

  1. Unlock and equip any of the mentioned upper body cosmetic piece in “A”
  2. Character’s left hand suffers incorrect muscle render/clipping in mourningstar
  3. Character’s right hand suffers incorrect muscle render/clipping in 1st person when holding any grenade (frag / krak / smoke) in hand, in both psykhanium & actual missions
  4. The other listed cosmetics all suffer clipping or incorrect muscle rendering of some kind

Does anybody know how this works? I wonder why can’t they fix clipping problem once and forever? I can’t recall such problem in any game when it was a constant thing (i suppose there are some examples). Is it cause of diffrent height and so it cause scaling problems?

No idea why DT has so many incorrect muscle rendering / clipping issues, most of which I found to be exclusive to Veteran (never found any weird issues with gloves or sleeves on cosmetics for any of the other 3 classes).

Hopefully they can address all of these cuz clipping (and incorrect muscle rendering) is a major concern to me on what cosmetics I want to use and buy.

Well, boobs on female is a must priority… between muscle and boobs for female, my choice is clear. I would like that females looks like females.

yeah, we know how it works. the outfit skins are overlaid on the player model skins, and do not have any collision indicatiors. this is also why pretty much anything that’s loose like robes and stuff clip through limbs constantly and it’s been an issue since vermintide 1. i think they mentioned back then they couldn’t manage a fix that didn’t cause the game engine to suddenly suck up all your CPU cycles rendering the collisions. these’ll happen whenever an outfit skin’s model doesn’t have a good flexing path to allow for the other components to remain “under” it. i wouldn’t expect a fix, fixing the clipping issue manually for each skin would take ages and grind cosmetic work to a halt and i suspect their investors would get mad if they did that.
