Upgrading a weapon to Red when it has a bogenhafen skin on

Hey, Dunno if this is a bug or by choice, but when I upgraded my weapon to red it kept the bogenhafen skin instead of going to the blue skin, I didn’t think to apply a standard skin before upgrading since i assumed this would’ve been done by someone during the beta or playtesting. can’t attach images right now but will do if needed later

I don’t think you get the skin anyway, unless something changed since the beta. It just bumps up all the stat rolls but doesn’t actually give you the red illusion.

Yea, you don’t get illusions, the blue glow on weapons when you upgrade them. You have to get the illusion out of a chest.

Skins are separate now because fatshark still want to lock skins behind insulting levels of RNG

  • Added the ability to upgrade an Exotic item to a Veteran item. Upgrading an item from Exotic to Veteran quality will cost 5 Bright Dust. An item upgraded to Veteran quality will retain its Traits and Properties, but these will be set to their respective maximum bonus. The item’s Power Level will be set to 300 and it will retain any skin currently applied to it.

We want to be clear, the Bright Dust system is designed to solve the problem of duplicate reds that you wanted to put to use. We are working on a solution for players to obtain specific blue illusions that will come in a future update - it will not be a part of the Bright Dust crafting mechanic.
