@FatsharkStrawHat After it’s had a good run out, could the map be moved in to Zola’s “special mission” section?
I quite like it for what it is, but it sits better with the Twins operation imho than a mainstream map. Maybe some bells in the Valkyrie too so we can ding-a-ling a harder level with infinite crushers (I’m joking. Or AM I?! )
After tinkering around with the new system last night, I can say that things are far and away better than the previous system. While you can’t get an item with perfect base stats, it isn’t too tedious to find one with stats that are close enough as makes little difference to me. Almost all weapons have a “dump” stat that I don’t care much about anyway, so just make sure that the “dump” stat is the one with the least potential and the others are maxed. Changing out perks and blessings freely is a good feeling and has added a ton of gameplay flexibility.
You can also convert a given weapon into any of its associated marks at will, which is nice for weapons that you would keep the same perks and blessings for between marks. Now I don’t have to have multiple eviscerators and thunder hammers, I can just convert them to the desired mark at will and keep all the same stats.
None of my weapons were at full mastery, but most of the weapons I use most were at level 17-19.
Note that you can force mastery progression easily by buying grey weapons of the same type from Brunt, consecrating them to green with Hadron, and then sacrificing them to progress the chosen weapon’s mastery. I was able to do this in a short amount of time to max mastery for several weapons. This was easy for me as I had saved up a lot of resources before the patch, but it would certainly be more tedious for those that had not. Still, much cheaper overall to get the desired item compared to the previous system.
As others have pointed out, the recon lasgun was not available at Brunt’s armory for my zealot. Hope this is fixed soon.
My feedback as someone who doesn’t have too much time to play games anymore, is that mastery takes too long. I get to play 1, maybe 2 games a day at most depending on my kid’s & family schedule.
Feels like it would take me a bit over a week or something at this rate to master 1 weapon, which doesn’t feel great. And that’s me playing at damnation. I can’t imagine how slowly things would feel if I played on Malice, 1-2 games at a time.
I do think that being able to sacrifice weapons help a lot, but overall my initial impression is that things are just too slow.
Overall I am quite pleased with the overall system though so I’ll keep playing, but this slow pace makes me not really want to try the new pickaxe. Because I haven’t played with it yet, and starting at a low level with slow progression even with damnation, I don’t feel is worth my time particularly.
Need to add to this pile. The new names have made it absurdly frustrating to figure out which of my old weapons are which. Now I have to TAB OUT OF THE GAME to look up the name changes so I can figure out what each weapon does before I buy. Absurd.
