Undo removal of psychic Screech from the perils, FatShark

you removed the psyker’s perils screech almost altogether. give it back, make it an option for audio pings like the other few things if you must, and lower its volume slightly. but i loved it so much. it felt like both a warning signal given by the psyker’s implants and a scream of the warp itself. and not having it in its previous form saddens me deeply. there’s still an equivalent with sienna that wasnt too loud- so why did you completely remove this one?

im pretty sure this was just some leftover thing from the engine carrying over from sienna

untrue. it was its own soundbite they made themselves- it was removed in the beta and when they updated it with the daemonhost they silenced it heavily, now its only for the final rung of perils and too quiet to be really distinct.

nah it had a different cadence and also had some elements of radio chatter like i described in my OP. i promise its different, heck you should visit youtube and give both a listen, i dont really have any videos of both sounds compared on hand. but im 100% sure there different

upon double checking, yes theyre different. the psykinetic scream lasts longer, at my most generous its about 1.75 seconds when the sienna scream is at most a second long. furthermore they are completely different screams. the psykinetic scream sounds like an edited voice (like a daemon reaching out from the warp) where the screech of sienna sounds far more inanimate. like something screeching with a more metalic creaking

My brother plays a Psyker, and he often mentions missing the older (louder?) Psychic scream that used to play. I mean why not have it? It only helps people manage their peril. At least make it an option.

its like with some weapon nerfs in other games. people probably complained about it and rather than just lowering its volume by maybe 30-40% they almost got rid of the whole thing

Because not everybody enjoys their ear drums getting ruptured every 10 seconds.

It’s grating and awful. Even the reduced form of high peril audio is still pretty obnoxious overall, after the initial “This is thematic at least.”

I can’t say I’m against an option for it (More options is generally a good thing), though I think it’s a pointless waste of dev time personally and only contributes to needless bloat.

It’s such a great touch and mood setting sound effect, im fine with it being 30% quieter but the audio cue helps so much when things get hectic.

The remember during pre-launch beta when it first got quieter I noticed a lot of psykers unwittingly exploding.

Option to regulate how loud the sound is would be good. In Overwatch you have specific options for some characters to tune for yourself.
