Underwhelming looking update

Indeed. Thankfully Ogryns are pretty rare.

Jokes aside, that’s unfortunate. I did not play enough VT to experience this and I for one wanted them to add these to DT. Was it really that oppressive? And was it still that bad on the highest difficulties.

VT2 bosses are (were?) mostly the same as DT bosses. The DT spawn is far less forgiving than it’s VT2 counterpart though. VT2 bosses were all pushovers in terms of difficulty in the sense that every class could solo them without any challenge or thought beyond “dodge left” (literally, that’s it). Potions just made it stupidly fast to do.

As for difficulty, I couldn’t say. I stopped playing shortly after Cata came out because there was nobody left to play it with.

Power potion + grail knight smite = 1 shot boss

So breaking down how i feel and trying my best to be fair:

The Good

Stims: These are cool, im honestly glad we are getting the potion system back in some form that fits with 40k. It would be cool if we had some interactions with the items enhancing stims V2 Style

New mission: More content is always good, i like the look of the new area so im glad we are getting new maps.

New combat encounter: I like the idea of having a Stalker type miniboss pairshow up to wreck house and disappear.

The neutral

More Weapon Marks: Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Ok don’t get me wrong, i like having new weapons to play with but what bugs me is specifically marks. For starters it doesn’t mention any actually new weapons. I was hoping we would maybe get a long las, a grenade launcher, a inferno / plasma pistol, maybe something even a bit more exotic like a chem flamer or something low tech but effective like a heavy crossbow or something exotic like a needle or hellgun.

I also don’t particularly like how some new marks have been used to basically be a replacement for older marks which have sense been abandoned balance wise (case and point the shotguns and Thunder Hammers). Like they have a picture of a chain axe on there but im very much afraid it’s just going to turn into “use this mark and that’s it”

Vet Tree Rework Pt 2: Keystone Drift : Cautiously optimistic i guess would be an accurate way to describe it but would really need to see the way they redid the tree to determine if it’s a good or a bad. On one hand this could be great and condense down some of the more copy/paste and less effective skills. This could really make it exactly what people wanted.

On the other they could very well shift some talents into far less impactful versions and be left with nodes that are +5 to nose picking while useful stuff like toughness near the bottom of the tree.

Intrigue: While it could be cool it could also be a big nothing. I’m hoping it’s leading to a more story based mission and encounter and not just something that exists as a vox transmission and nothing else.

The Bad

Crafting: Crafting not being mentioned still, it’s one of the systems sorely needing addressed and it might never get addressed which sucks considering more weapons are coming in and any more time with the system isn’t going to make it any less half baked and annoying to use.

New protentional bugs likely not getting fixed till after the new year: Yeah this is going on there for good reason. Yes i feel like it’s a fair point to pick at considering things like the surge staff and other issues.

I will say there is a lot of good in this update but there is also that general feeling of “That’s it? This is what you had to split the update into 2 pieces for?”. I do have a tinfoil hat theory that we won’t actually get any new weapon that isn’t a Mark of something else till the crafting gets a proper part 3 rework or whatever we are on now but still.

I hope the new map adds a slot to the mission board per difficulty instead of permanently taking over one slot for the two weeks after release. It has a pretty big impact on mission selection and quick play.

i honestly don’t care what content we get, i just want them to fix the problems with the current content, mainly the veteran tree, if they give content without fixing the tree i will be sad. i hate when game dev’s constantly release new content without fixing the stupid stuff in the game already

Hopefully they integrate the karnak twins into the regular mission board, maybe as a maelstrom or special modifier.

I mean it IS better than nothing, and we haven’t seen everything just yet - but I won’t get my hopes too high.

The update isnt out yet. Be optimistic but temper your expectation. I want them to buff some weapons and rebalance/buff certain blessings. If there are no new weapons then so be it, but im all for making more old weapons more competitive.

I don’t really mind the lack of new weapons for now, as long as we’re getting new marks to further diversify our playstyles. New weapons are crucially important for the future of the game, though - they shouldn’t hold it off for too long.

I’d like a proper boss fight elsewhere on top of that.

New MK’s do definitely feel much different, and I’m excited to get my hands on them. Don’t get too much of the hate there. It’s an expectation thing I suppose which I can understand. Ogryn in particular needs some love. Where the hell is his 2h?

The rest of the main post though I fully agree with. They are definitely doing what I would call for any other game a regular update, and splitting it up to keep the drip feed going.

“we have heard your complaints about the keystones and they are no easier to reach”

Nah chief, we said they suck. get rid of this “play stupid to unlock bonuses” crap.

At least 2 out of the 3 vet keystones are pretty great and do not require you to do anything stupid.
Some people just do not like them.

But having an opinion does not make you right and does not mean that you get what you want.

Shotguns is probably the worst example because the Lawbringer is still good and has a place.

Agreed, seems a bit unlogical…
They could have done a Major Bossfight for the first time with the Twins as they seem to be the right/ left Hand of Commander Wolff. Somewhere along the path we would fight Wolff as a Main Boss in another Major new Map Area!

or

Twins are like Demonhosts and have a chance to spawn on all Maps. That would have been neat aswell!

Absolutely we need New Weapons. Its about time after one Year and its bloody Christmas soon!

2 maps added in a span of a month is a bad update to you? An update with a new map cannot be bad by definition, maps add the most replayability. If a new weapon comes out for a class you don’t like to play, or the weapon turns out a subpar sidegrade, you’ll never use it and it brings nothing to the game. Maps are the best things to add, because everyone gets them and they won’t be outclassed or nerfed.

They will add new weapons in time, they’re clearly playing the long game here. They don’t want to use up all the cool stuff in first years of the game, so that later down the path nothing exciting can be done anymore.

The game has issues, and you have the right to criticize it, but it’s important to appreciate good work too.

After looking at the response here vs on reddit, I think the devs would be better off avoiding their official forums

Thats horse sh*t.

The thread for part 2 of traitors curse is quiet, calm and generally pretty positive. Idk why everyone feels the need to make out we’re worse than reddit here. Like anyone would believe that.
