Traitors curse is looking pretty meh and that it really didn’t need to be split into 2 parts for the rather limited amount of content both parts ended up delivering.
2 maps split over a month
More weapon mk’s (really? we need new weapons not the same ones with minor differences)
Limited time Karnak Twins mini boss fight (this really should have been a unique end boss fight for a level emperor knows we need them) also limited time just seems silly
Potions from v2 copy pasted as stims (can’t wait to see the utterly insane damage potentials tho)
Qol balance changes (vet tree sounds like it’s becoming less awful)
And that’s it. Idk just splitting only this much content over a month really just makes the whole thing just feel worse and smaller.
I disagree with most everything you’ve said – I’m quite excited about the new update! – but this is the only bit I think warrants a response.
Look at the headhunter auto guns, specifically the VII and the III. Those are very different weapons, and there’s no reason to believe that future mark variations won’t add depth/tangible differences like those. To dismiss them out of hand as “same with minor differences” feels pretty off the mark (heuck) to me.
And it’s great news for anyone who likes the root weapon types, because new blessings don’t have to be farmed.
If they added weaponry I wanted I wouldn’t be upset to farm for them
Better yet they actually make the gear progression and crafting not awful like they said they would.
Look the update as a whole is ok, but splitting it was just silly there wasn’t enough to warrant yeah this needed to be extended over a month idk I feel like the update would have Come off as a lot better if everything just came together meaning we didn’t get an update until December.
I don’t believe this, but maybe they’re holding off on whole new weapon types until they make the crafting less painful? Who knows!
If they waited until it was all done, I don’t think anyone would be any happier about it. The Part 1 content being out before now (because it was done) has been nice. And it’s obviously kept players playing. And the Part 2 stuff sounds nice too, but it’s not done yet.
Karnak Twins Could be cool
(I have the feeling they will just be 2 weaker versions of the end bosses you fight in assassination missions you fight at the same time) this is fatshark after all, but who knows.
Eh, go play something else for a while then? Eventually there will be enough material to whelm you?
I’m excited to see the new content and am happy to see Fatshark churning things out, although in fairness it probably won’t hold my interest more than 2-3 weeks (which is more a crafting locks issue; out of goals to pursue). So I’ll probably beat it, craft a few new variants, take a break, then pop up at the next big update, but really happy w/how far the game has come in a year personally.
Fine with more weappn Marks but dissapointed we aren’t also getting more new weapon families.
This is a wait and see but I really don’t like “limited time only,” thing. I hope it can be implemented as a forever thkng eventually, at least if they’re actually fun.
This is something I and others have asked for. Personally very excited to see how it will work.
Really hope there is a lot more balance chanhes than just the Vet tree.
There is also the redacted part which I assume is a second mission with the Zola plotline.
I would have really liked to see full new weapons but overall I’m pretty excited.
I agree but there still needs to be new weapon families. I’m happy for more Marks but idk, would’ve been nice to have gotten more.
The update is just fine. People are parroting ideas other people came up with. One asinine poster decided for some reason that we should get new weapons right now, so 50 people have to post this stupid “opinion” instead of thinking for themselves.
New weapons will be nice but you can’t expect them to drop so soon after the big talent tree rework and existing weapons STILL need new marks anyways. Someone gets it in their head that we should have meltas so now everyone wants new weapons. They’ll add them eventually, but you are not mindful of content cadence if you expected it this winter.
You might be right about the “marks” They did only mention new marks and variations. But i am hoping that maybe they will still add at least one new weapon just had a " ad fumble" and are still just underselling their update in the tease. Because we all know how gamers also hate being oversold on a game and i was very impressed with the overhaul update. I also think there is more to be teased about this update because the last Box showed INFO LOST which may or may not have a suprise for us. But im just speculatin maybe even copelating on that.
I don’t mind this, though I don’t relish the idea of another few weeks of having one map locked into the QP rotation. Carnival is fun, but not every other run for weeks at a time.
Yawn. Last time this happened the new weapons were mostly just better versions of existing ones, or the same weapon with stat tweaks.
Hey, I suggested this back when I started playing V2. Better late than never. Remove the “limited time” factor and we’ve got a potential winner here.
I, for one, am not looking forward to bosses being completely trivialised again.
They’re making the keystones easier to reach, which is a big win in my book. I wonder if they can break the cycle and update the vet tree without somehow making it even more restrictive.
The start of the text is obviously “Explicator Zola”. Vox Intercept 2 suggests Zola is going rogue to chase down a heretic. I suspect an additional mission will be added with her as a feature.
Yeah what has been stated leaves little room for interpretation. But hoping for the best. If anything maybe some of the mark variations will be worthwhile. I have a good guess that all the weapons with the least amount of marks IE Eviscerator. Chain axe, flamer shredder, Snubbi, Bolter are gonna be the marks we will be getting. Which would be still alright.
That would be unfortunate. Never played rattide so I don’t know how it was implemented. I hope they are not too strong but still useful. Maybe even customizable.
