Randomly (and incredibly frequently) I am unable to see new messages or my messages in chat. Additionally, sometimes the chat is completely blank with no messages or notification at all. This happens multiple times a day, to the point that I have had to reset 3 times between 2 games. Resetting the game does fix the issue, but not for long.
The issue has been happening for months, but has become increasingly bad the past two weeks.

Hey RedPanda, we’ve noticed this occurs for users of the Deutsche Telekom ISP (or any of its subsidiaries). Is this the case for you?
Hey, I can add my two cents to this thread in hope that it can be useful. I had the same issue a couple of days ago and another friend of mine had it quite consistently for a week a while ago. In both case it occurred and were gone randomly. In my case it went away after a restart, but for him even after one, it only worked for a couple minutes and then chat was gone again. Neither of us are on Deutsche Telekom, or even from Germany, but both are from different EU countries. Don’t know if it helps but I hope this provides more context and maybe Op can add something else to it.
Afraid not! I’m in the UK and my provider is Virgin Media. It happens to me (Steam), but also to my flatmate who uses xbox. It still occurs on occasion when utilising a VPN.
Yup, can confirmed its definitely wide spread. A different friend, from once again another EU country and not German had the issue just yesterday. They are also someone who do not have any mod either so it seems to be not related to any of those.
I am not sure if this was clear, so my apologies. I can also confirm the first 2 cases I mentioned (my own and the other friend) were not subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom ISP either, the third could have been, I haven’t asked them.
Just to update on this. It’s happened 8 times today and I’ve had to restart each time. It can happen at any time, mid mission, in the mourningstar. Voice chat is not affected.

I enabled the launch setting and got rid of about 8 mil dockets, but for me this remained a one time things. It’s been also over a week since anyone in our group had the issue, but I will make sure to check with them in case the problem shows up again. Thank you for the link to the tips on resolving it.
So surprisingly, after the latest patch all the issues with chat completely disappeared. I’ve played for about 3 hours now and not a single problem… not sure if that feedback helps! @FatsharkJulia
