Issue Description:
Hey all. A few days ago Vermintide 2 stopped launching. It gets stuck on the screen that shows the controller layout where it says “starting launch.” So I tried to verify local files, which I’ve done before, and it gets stuck on “resetting install script.” So then I went to uninstall/reinstall, but that gets stuck on the Uninstall popup. Restarting the Deck had no effect.
Attempted solution: So I read some articles, went over to Desktop mode, deleted the game folder and the Vermintide 2 folder in compdata per this thread, and then cleared my download cache via the Steam desktop app. I’m honestly not sure what happened then: it seemed like it was uninstalling, but I couldn’t tell it it had finished doing so, and then when I went back to gaming mode it immediately started re-installing and I’m back to square one.
Setup: 256 gb Steam Deck with 512 gb sim, game installed on internal storage (not the sim). The most advanced mucking around I’ve done was getting Xbox Cloud Gaming up and running via Edge browser. No third party software of any kind, no other issues with this game or other games.
Error Displayed (If Applicable):
None—it just gets to the screens I mentioned and stays there until I re-start the Deck.
