See title. For the record, I’ve been pugging in the 25-35 range since patch release and pugged 40s prior to the patch.
The new Havoc is generally a lot of fun and an improvement, but it’s frustrating when one event wipes groups 100% of the 5 times I’ve seen it. The group drops down a point of no return, three bosses spawn alongside a horde full of elites and the party collapses in short order. It’s particularly bad when one of the lieutenant bosses has the Encroaching Garden purple aura, or a 4th Weakened boss decides to join the fray.
What exactly is the counterplay here? The massive spike in difficulty just seems wildly out of place, especially when it occurs at a relatively low level like 25.
Even if you can cc the specialists its not like theyre going to stop spawning and you can definitely end up in impossible situations in havoc and I think thats what people are sick of and especially given that you can demote still. Who the hell wants to kill 3 bosses and twins at the end of a run that you have already been in like 50 minutes? Like how toxic does havoc really need to be? The twins alone are already bad enough and especially in tight spaces. I want to play high havoc but I havent touched it cuz stuff like this will just aggravate me. Ive seen far too many runs since the patch just fall apart because of some stupid daemon host placement or some insane boss combination in the worst place possible.
Bring boss damage. Zealot Thunderhammer, Vet Bolter, Ogryn Branx off the top of my head.
The Frontline needs to make space for the party. They should run over and meet the scariest stuff head on, grab aggro, then kite as they / DPS kill things. Don’t kite into your friends, if possible.
For elites, there’s lots of different answers. Basically whoever doesn’t have boss aggro should be cleaning them up.
Is this fair for a 25? It feels overwhelming at first but I’d lean towards yes. Havoc is hard mode they made harder. An Auric Mael win puts you at 16. 30’s are now harder than old 40’s. A 25 would be ~approx~ an old 35.
