like the sniper from this game or the hookrat from vermintide 2, you can hear them moving around. sniper has lil bells, hookrat has coconuts. trapper in this game has occational sounds that decide to play when they want/when they’re not being drowned out by screaming muties in narnia.
for what ever reason, trappers are steal killers this patch. very hard to to see them coming amongst the chaos or they could jus be broken
They do actually have a roaming / moving sound but it’s extremely quiet. They have somewhat a of a muffled laugh i believe that they have and a slight rattle of equipment but it gets heavily drowned out like you say.
I’m 50/50 between all the sounds just being internally glitched due to a sounds channel overflow or if it’s just that some sounds were given lower priority in some kind of internal system which just bricked everything.
i know what you are discribing and thats not what i mean. that laugh, the voicelines, the net sound all play randomly at given intervals. i meant more like an active sound that plays when it moves. we dont need to hear a mutie screaming at the top of its longs all game, maybe shutting that guy up would make poxbursters and trappers more audible.
but still, would be nice if this unit had a dedicated sound that you know where its whereabouts were
The sniper has a sound? Am i deaf and have just never heard it?
I see the laser sight and know the distinctive sound of their rifles but do they have a sound outisde this? Am i just stupid (yes) and have missed it or is my audio messed up?
i’d say besides the mutie choir the flamer can also be very annoying screaming stuff while their flamer also makes noise. they should definetly give the trapper the same sound as the hookrat because the reason it makes those “coconut” sounds is because some skull trophies are clapping together and the trapper got those too.
When moving their kit jingles. Its quite funny to hear a sniper have such unprofessional kit management but it helps keep an eye on them if they reposition.
Trappers do make noises but man they are all kindsa glitchy in patch 15. Lets see how it goes in patch 15.2
It is true only for some voicelines. Like “Snaring loyalists” or “webgun in position”. While “Web out!” for example plays only before shooting the web and is accompanied by a webgun shooting sound. “Webgun moving to position”, “got a net just for you”, “Beginning capture” only plays when trapper has a net loaded and is looking for a victim. “Knocked one down” and the like ofc play when trapper captured someone.
The background laugh is a spawn sound. Basically like a mutie first roar or a dog first bark. You know the ones.
The other “web sound” is the sound of them reloading the gun if they gotten away successfully.
Those are the ones i know for sure what they do. Basically my point is trapper is actually one of the most telegraphed enemies, because it often signals on what she’s doing, just did or about to do. And come on, everyone by this point should have an unconditioned reflex to press dodge on the webgun shooting sound.
Also, a bit on the offtop, why does she sound so horny? That’s like slaanesh level laugh/breathing, not nurgle.
Edit: Seems like all “echo” trapper voicelines are also a spawn sound
yea not sure if you’ve jus not been playing the game for months or what but thats jus not how that works anymore. just assume everyone thats reading this memorized everything you jus said. still doesnt work that way. lemme show u how it works now
Voicelines not playing or playing too much is definetly a bug that is known to playerbase, and that has appeared after patch 13.
When it works properly, trapper is one of the most telegraphed enemies, and for sure dosen’t need a “movement sound”.
