Toughness Regen...What does it do exactly?

Trying to figure out the right curios for my Vet and currently stacking percent health and + 1 wound. I have toughness regen on all 3 but I feel like I’m made out of glass.

P.S. I also have block effeciency on all 3 curios.

I assumed it affected the rate of passive toughness regen, but I could be wrong. I’ve never tested it.

It effects the rate of passive toughness regen, not sure if it applies to self gen. Might only be coherency.

Toughness regeneration affects both the rate of coherency regeneration and more importantly it lowers the time required to start regenerating from coherency after taking damage.

Reportedly it doesn’t increase other sources of Toughness regeneration, but since it decreases regeneration start time it’s one of the best perks to stack. T4 is vastly more impactful than t3 tho.

Interesting. What do you guys have on your curios?

That largely depends on the individual setup. For Vet 2xTougness 1x Health works well enough in general, you can swap 1 Toughness to +Stam.

Perk wise there are a lot of good options, depending on what you want/have. +Toughness, +Health, Sniper/Gunner resistance, Toughness regen (if multiple are stacked), Stam regen, Grim resistance (if you into doing grims), Revive speed can also be useful…

In general, you can go for whatever you want, but stacking one thing is usually better than mixing. @Reginald afaik stack triple stam curio on zealot for example to great effect.

Running +8 stamina right now and something like -25% sprint cost reduction on those curios. My strategy is basically they can’t hit me if I go fast. Also advantageous for blocks and pushes.

Other than that its lots of gunner resistance, combat ability regen and revive speed (ally). I can pull some spicy rezzes with all those blocks.

Besides toughness, for Vet I very highly rate stamina regen and and sniper resist. Snipers have a x10 multiplier against toughness so they’re the main thing I find actually threatening with Vet’s huge toughness pool. Especially when the servers sometimes just say “no you” to your attempt to dodge them. Or the weird bug where their first shot is instant sometimes.

Stam regen is self explanatory. Vet’s stamina stats are the worst of any class. Getting it back quicker takes a lot of stress off melee combat for Vet. Also it’s nice to be able to sprint more often.

IMO toughness regen is a bit redundant on Vet they have such strong regen feats (it absolutely shines on Ogryn and Psyker). It’s never bad to have though.

Inspiring Barrage auto pistol *when you are standing still on psyker or zealot, with 3X toughness regens. Yeah the coherency regen is nice but look how insane that racks up at 5 stacks. The bar refills like when we could do 600%+ toughness regen on ogryn. You do not need to waste much ammo either since its an active fire blessing, just trigger tapping will keep it going without losing stacks.

In general though the blue shield is obnoxious to be without and the lockout of the normal regen windows is bad. I kinda wish stamina regen adjusted the delay before stamina regen occurs on other characters, this is another irritating mechanic I’d be willing to spend perks to ammend.

Toughness regen x3, 2x/3x HP, +3 stam on psyker, 3x sniper defence.

thoughness regen … regenerat toughness… your wellcome :grinning:

How come?

Because the difference is large enough that if you stack the T4 version 3 times its like getting 4 toughness regen 22.5%s. And because it affects more than just the coherency regen.

Not like crit chance or damage where 1% crit or 5% damage generally isn’t a deal breaker. Those can also only be slotted once.

The only thing it affects other than coherency regen is inspiring barrage, because that blessing actually works by adding base coherency regen with each stack. At 5 stacks inspiring barrage gives 0.5x base coherency regen which is the same amount you normally get from being in coherency range of one other person.

Damage in this game comes all at once, generally after you have been disabled or fail in your positioning. Each class also has multiple ways to instantly regenerate toughness in chunks, in and out of combat. In general, Toughness Regeneration on curios is horrible aside for Ogryn, which gets essentially 4x value from the stat due to his dual toughness regeneration talents.

What’s better then? Sniper/Gunner resistance, corruption resistance (actually godly on Zealot and Ogryn), stamina regeneration are all significantly better than toughness regen. Frankly I’d rather have the flat 5% toughness perk than toughness regen.

It is pretty good for psyker.
When getting shot from range while brainbursting, you regen quite well this way.
