Top 5 Suggestions for the game going forward

My primary goal here is to see the team’s play better together and see the game reach maximum success. I am over 100 missions in 146 hrs on steam I love the game but have a few suggestions I think will elevate it greatly.

  1. Random crashes happen for me every match or every other match, in this game only. I have several hundreds of steam games many new and graphically intense this is not a CPU, GPU issue on my end it is a your game thing. Fix your game delay the full launch and keep it in beta till it is ready.

I did every thing on the list from fresh install of the game down to windows c + + reinstall. The game will crash after a grenade is tossed or a ripper gun reload animation and at times when I am just running down the hall. I am well within the graphic settings of this game :

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti

Processor Intel(R) Core™ i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz

Installed RAM 32.0 GB

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I play on a Super ultra wide monitor 5120 x 1440

several Tera of disk space on an SSD…

I even lowered the settings even though I am optimal in the Nvidia control panel under a profile made to favor performance I am lowering the graphical fidelity lighting etc. below what my rig says it can can perform at and I am still getting crashes locked at 60fps…

This is a bad experience for anyone. No one wants to have bought 5k worth of computer and 2k worth of monitor only to play it at 1080p because you have to “make it work”…no that’s why I paid for the deluxe edition. You make it work please with all due respect that is why we support you.

This is the single biggest issue.

Please delay the launch till these issues are completely fixed. You can release the full gameplay for sure, just keep it officially in beta phase until you fix the issues or the good will people like me are throwing your way despite ourselves will not last long.

I also suggest for all the dozens of matches I could not re-connect to you consider this and offer either some materials for the upgrade shop or some cosmetics to the beta players that have been stumping for you between pulling out the last bit of the hair in the front of their recessed hairline.

  1. Make ammo pick ups split evenly between team members that need ammo when any player picks it up.

I know you have voice lines in for players hording ammo etc. I don’t care. When you have 4 or 5 players becoming adversarial over ammo that is not conducive to a strong “team based” game. The ammo system is by design toxic. No one can guarantee a quick play player is going to listen to them or help the team so having a level 9 join your group of 25’s on malice and horde ammo only to die 3 seconds later and disconnect is not instilling the importance of “team mechanic’s” in anyone’s head it is just toxic.

Have the VO team come in make new voice lines. Have the characters complain about sharing the ammo with a psycher or a person that is smashing things half as good as them make it funny. Add animations that show the player tossing the ammo clips to each other and catching them. Do the atmospheric thing that we all love that has us playing through 100 plus crashes in a week because the game is so addictive and we will play it even more.

3.Please add more VO in the game as you grow it as the wealth of banter helps a lot to make the game less boring after hundreds of matches. When you feel like you have a deeper story going on in the background that will grow over time it feels like you are getting more out of the experience. More lore more back and forth is great this game is all about atmosphere and the VO is king right behind the graphical fidelity and lighting in creating that experience.

  1. Take sound to the next level. Add in a soundtrack feature that re imagines the soundtrack so levels will not get stale. Consider different themes for different events even.

Mick Gordon did a twit longer…he got screwed and was not the bad guy…umm he needs a job…the sound track is…fun…but the OG Doom Soundtrack is Iconic…go make some grim dark fans happy and throw him a bone on a future DLC…or add the ability to have different track packs made by multiple artists like say Serj Tankian or Trent Reznor…similar to the soundtracks in Dota 2…I would easily pay for some top shelf reimagining of the grim dark by top level artists.

5 Assassin’s can join any “army/faction” in tabletop…just saying  JK…

No seriously my number 5 is please move more toward a Diablo style game compared to a Left for Dead alike…

This game feels more like Diablo to me it has progression I want to sink into and crafting. Go with those idea’s more then the punishing group killer mobs everyone has a billionteen suggestions to nerf. We want loot drops every time a boss is killed in hard difficulties…One of them swallows players whole…why wouldn’t he have swallowed other people and have undigested loot in his insides?

There is a clear difference between killing a hard mob and picking up an amazing drop off the floor and seeing it in a splash screen. When your adrenaline is topped off and you rezed your whole team in a fight you barely won and the boss collapses and you see a gold shaft of light it is that moment a man and women share when babies are born that I will not get into here on the forums…you know what I am saying…this is what we need.

Loot drops from super tuned up bosses…Raids with higher player counts…and omega bosses with deeper mechanics at play. More tuning and refining of the skill trees and add full gear for every body slot head, chest, legs ,accessory with stats and item progression on each.

Playing in a mission would be far less tedious if you knew you could get a drop in each and every one not just after the match that may or may not crash on you.

Earning currency drops and farming levels to get loot up on 4 characters is tedious. Loot drops are the way to go, they make you have a sense of discovery and wonder.

Balancing will be key as if there is a particular mission that could be farmed better people would just abuse that and the balance would be off so I would suggest a random system where gear would not be “on” a specific boss but rather have a random chance to spawn from any boss monster 10% of the time and “rare named loot 5%” with this there need to be enhanced skill trees and mechanics so that the boss fights can have depth.

Higher tier gear will only be in the higher levels lower tier difficulty spawns level appropriate greens and blues so everyone can get something for them and the game would feel far richer overall with less of a curve to gearing up.

I really get what your saying on crashes I had serious frame rate issues till I used a resolution scaling thing nvidea has, as for the rest of your whole post I don’t know what to tell you about rushed products in gaming. I’m used to it and that’s not a good thing, and everything else I cant say I want a diablo darktide they made a left 4 dead and you want it to run towards borderlands and looter shooter maybe I just disagree but I guess everyone has an opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and what they want for the game going forward but I think my top 5 also needs context. I am playing as a player that has over 100 missions completed and if you added in the ones that I played halfway through and got d/c’ed I would be at 200 or more.

I am one xp bar from my second level 30 and will grind the others in short order. When you cap the only thing the game can offer is diversity in loot the more loot the more "diversity’ the more unique the loot the more people that will keep playing the game so that you can continue to have new experience and immersion in environment which is why most of what I was asking for was flavor such as music track options, more VO to discover so replaying didn’t start to feel stale and more customization in gear.

Even the original left for dead developers that sold the license to Valve so they had to make the sequel as Back 4 Blood cranked out a 4.9 user score on metacritic game. If you read what the people were saying with that game they tore it to shreds for the bugs and the lack of variety. Many comments amount to short lived fun and cheap clone of a classic…if you look at what this game is following up it has a lot to live up to and part of that is growing the gameplay and making it better and more in depth for the current generation not stagnation and reproducing an old formula.

This game could perfectly balance the Left for Dead and Diablo elements with the modern shooter and Vermentide melee weapons and make a new hybrid classic or it could end up getting review bombed again on metacritic like it had been on steam for releasing early and having non stop crashes. That have still not been fixed and we are 2 days from launch.

I prefer they dare to be great and hold off on full launch for their own good and the games longevity. I will play regardless but this is a chance for these games to go mainstream. I have Cod MW2 and have yet to play it because this feels so good…they could really go mainstream with this title or screw it up and be a niche game again like the Vermentide series.

If you look at COD as well they had to read the room and come out with Battle Royale to stay with the times. This series has a huge opportunity to do the same it just needs to make the right calls or it will burn bright and hot then fizzle out in the majority of players minds and be relegated to a small player base.

Games like the original Left for Dead survived on mod support. They are clearly making this game with a more games as a service approach and they want to make events and flesh out the story over time.

In my mind that lends itself more to MMORPG elements and seasonal Diablo elements then superficial shooter elements. They already have a crafting system that is going to be implemented. They need to fix bugs then flesh out the gearing and weapon systems and expand on them or they will not hold players after things begin to feel stale.

Games like Destiny still have a rabid fan base because the base game has solid elements then they have the unique weapons that feel amazing skill trees and loot grind and raids. This game is using the destiny model if you look at the Vermentide expansions and content pipeline so it better bring the diversity in content or why won’t people jump to games offering them more overall?

Even the new Halo bombed in comparison to the past games because the devs went the money hungry route but didn’t offer enough content to be worth the DLC prices they overpromised and under delivered…and that game was not a buggy mess on launch day…this game needs to get it’s ish in gear or it will die off quick that is not hyperbolic logic it is just factual based on past industry trends. I hope they do as I love the atmosphere and most of what they have done so far they need to put the sword in the fire and continue to forge it before they start swinging it like a Samurai though.

I hear you I would like context to my background choices because I personally do love the banter and would love to hear more of it I have friends who named characters like Lumberfoot and mayfly because of the staples of Vermintide and let’s not forget Tall Bardin. i just guess when I hear music track options, Despite my own music taste, it feels trivial in the grand scheme of things. One is crafting not fully arriving on launch so in essence, I’m agreeing with you when you said they need to get it together quickly.

Very true and unfortunately being the dev of a niche game like vermintide 1&2 and hiring well-talented people to write your story like Dan Abnett are only going to go far with a universe-shifted sequel once the launch happens if fixes and features don’t happen and they don’t move to there pipeline of live services the game will probably lost people quickly. i myself played vermintide 2 off and on while other games were my main game for the most part and its not like this game has pvp to fall back on with your thoughts on COD and Battle Royales there not my type of game but I get what the point you’re trying to make is

that’s why the community in vermintide 2 wanted mods. Something in earnest we never “really” got and defiantly won’t get in Darktide. A big criticism I’m sure you have seen is they took X time on X class and Sienna’s final job isn’t out yet. How could they possibly make a class per quarter and X so on and so on it’s a small coat on a big man kinda situation? I hope they prove people wrong its going to depend on money like everything.

i do hope there not done after 70-something weapons. I know skins are going to be a thing and I’m not impressed with the skins. we have more weapon drop skins from twitch. they are also very meh. They have a lot of worlds they can pull from in 40k to get a lot of weapons from. But the RNG element looks better but I’m super skeptical of the way Power is going to be crafted. More dice rolls and the number of materials you’re going to need and so on. I could write a post about all my fears, the pieces I don’t know aren’t out worried me less than what we have right this moment.

Apples and oranges but yes a radically different class from what we have would be about the same
they had the uh idk rogue like element in the chaos wastes you chose a path it gave buffs and debuffs offered equipment that forced you to change what you used etc was cool for a hot minute but more of the same I would like to see the arena from vermintide 1 come back its similar to the left 4 dead survival things and i don’t know if PVP is even an option for this game but I probably wouldn’t play it but a strike map would be interesting if we had a lot of mid-bosses and harder ending bosses maybe something a little more objective based to kill the boss.

fatshark has been generous to us in the past for content that comes with a DLC and i hope it continues because it sounds like all map content will be free as the game progresses in content something people used to hate we will see if they pull it off because this personally has been all I’ve looked forward to in the last couple years for new releases bugs included il be grinding till I’m tired of it.
in retrospect, you have a better PC and a much nicer monitor I don’t even have an SSD. I hope the crashes and the backend errors are in short weeks just an old meme. especially because we’re not getting another delay the game will launch regardless. I’ve never and I mean never in these situations seen a dev listen to a small group of players when they say please don’t ship on this it’s gonna hurt you ever. this reply is getting LONG so I’m gonna start bullet posting because i feel like you wrote some serious thoughts and I gave a half-baked reply.

they baked this into the veteran with coherency kills maybe it needs a buff i know i hate sharing ammo but i play a psyker and rarely use a gun because of how i play. if you can play with more vets and psyker who use staffs maybe you should.

Preaching to the choir

More is good but more is money i agree with you i hope the game does well cause maybe we could see it

the number of videos on my youtube timeline of people loving the assassin kill music tells me this would end up interesting if they did spend the time you never know we might end up with some youtube remixes.

this is where I don’t know you lost me. I want to say yea cool but its a system and I’m beating a dead horse when I say needs money. i don’t hate it id love this i just see this never happening for this game just thinking out loud.

we’re discovering crafting mats in boxes where ammo should be. Oh, and books for more money could be a whole gun but it’s like anywhere from 1/5 to 1/17 of a gun for side objectives. The weekly stores need way better stuff and a slightly less time-intensive grind for weekly that or way better rewards cause the weekly store loot sucked. Why not money pickups randomly in the level I mean in Vermintide you killed a boss you got a loot dice that made your end chest better do that. something like that.

again loot dice gear

more mats are spawn in higher difficulties and i think they want us to craft up thing so i guess were getting that.

sorry for the long post
