I’ve been steadily playing the new Indomitable Event, which is fun and refreshing.
However, for some reason Fatshark decided to make the Lights Out very common for the new event, which is not cool. So when the two missions with the event were Lights Out I decided to play a regular High Intensity mission.
And the ******* Tox Bombers are just as worst as before patch 1.11.5 and they flooded the map with green. I hate Tox Bombers. I hate Tox Bombers. I hate Tox Bombers.
Please do something Fatshark! Regular missions are full of them. Make them go away or undo your changes from patch 1.11.5 PLEASE!
In the spirit of this forum, I shall take an unswerving stance in opposition to yours. FS, please add more tox bombers, don’t listen to the anti-toxxites! Everyone clearly loves seeing nothing but green!
That said, Lights Out wins for me as Worst “Modifier”, even though I also hate Tox Gas deeply. Tox Gas is just implemented poorly, but Lights Out actively gives me a headache, and I still think that EVERY class should just have a frickin flashlight that they can toggle on and off, not bound to specific weapons. Just like Left 4 Dead. That game was 18 years ago Fatshark, why you behind the curve on the game that inspired this genre?
I feel like Tox gas just needs a slight rework, with smaller chunks becoming gassy, or the gas lasting a shorter time, because some classes simply can’t move through the VAST areas you decide it would be a good idea to swamp all at once on a short timer, and so it just means a ton of waiting. The point of the modifier should be to force players to use areas of the map they don’t usually bother using, not a waiting simulator.
nah, the real issue is the “i dont like it, remove it completely” argument.
whats expected other than “nope”, for a lack of better options keep it how it is, anythings better than just the “-1” approach.
adjusting stuff while keeping the essence of a certain enemy type is ok.
but when people claim defeat over a non issue for others, why should it be my problem if i aint struggling and instead like the concept?
aint that what lower difficulties are there for in the first place?
up the spire, there’ll always be jank
come to think i cant remember a moment in hi int where tox bombers of all things were even noticeable, people being scaredy cats over a bunch of ragers and flock to the 4 winds sure.
but a bit of green farts in not even auric maelstrom?
expeditions i agree they need an aim adjustment as to not lob perfectly from behind a rock formation to which you cant even retaliate by a grenade arch yourself is bs
In the 40k an ex-convict gets their hands on some of the most sacred weapons of the Imperium of Man, plasma guns, bolters, relic blades…but cannot afford a proper head lamp.
I would disagree with your statement the modifier is poorly implemented since the abundant med stims make it almost too easy once you get over the initial scare factor like I did.
However, this idea is fantastic.
Re: tox bombers, I, and I think many others, have been saying for a long time: the gas NEEDS to cover less area OR linger a lot less. Then they’d feel just fine.
Main thing I dislike about the gas is that it fills a certain number of map chunks so like in a narrow hallway it’s a 40m long stretch of gas but in an open area it a 15m circle. But like a catwalk with completely open air gets the narrow hallway treatment. I get it but definitely do not like it.
I think both of our statements can be true, and I agree - the stims are so common it’s bonkers. XD Some classes literally can’t cross a tox field without taking substantial damage tho, even if you stack corruption resistance! That’s just abysmal design, when the areas are as vast as they are. Add in a Tox Bomber, it’s extremely easy to become completely disoriented and can’t find your way out.
Which happens a lot in DT with the amount of garbage on-screen, but in no way (too easy or annoyingly blinding) is this a good design, I think we all agree.
And yeah, @Durandal94 , I feel you. I mean, I played Wolfenstein3D back in the day. XD
yes you were, but most giving their one dimensional critique dont.
so all jokes etc (which are fine) aside, its the modus operandi thats at play here sadly
Its the one game i dont alter with source ports cause its the “womb” of sorts that needs to be played in original mode to cherish it for what its done to gaming
had a version of spear of destiny too on a floppy disk that crashed at the final boss.
for years i couldnt get a proper one due to shitty censorship and the internet not being what it was in 1994
So you haven’t played Brutal Wolfenstein 3d then? Personally I think that’s the best Wolfenstein game, it might seem like it’s just Wolfenstein 3d but brutal at first but the further into you get the less recognizable it gets (final level is in hell with Doom enemies it’s awesome) it’s pretty much it’s own game and technically it’s actually a Doom 2 mod.
i truly believe its awesome, just not for me when it comes to replay/-member the first “love” at fps games.
some things should stay untouched
brutal doom i played as well, the gimmicks are fun as is the engine behind.
weaponry though i dont tinker with, theres 1-8 (chainsaw included) and thats it.
nothing more, nothing less, all doom
I would be lying if I said I didn’t understand, one of my favorite book series is The Expanse and I have no intention whatsoever to watch the tv series even though I have heard good things about it.
