I love the random charges on the medicae as a difficulty mechanic but I would change it a bit to having to charge your medicae with damaged/low charge cells. Finding a medicae with less charges off the bat feels bad but squeezeing the last drop of healing from a scavenged battery feels better. You could still limit the amount of charges according to difficulty but earning something even a little bit feels better than just finding less than a whole thing.
I also love the personality and amount of care that obviously went into our lovely little box healer. I hope to hear even more of his creepy sad little lines as we divy out heals as a squad. He is my favorite npc ngl.
