I think FS should increase eviscerator dmg, and do something with cleave dmg it should be higher, because Caxe is more effective against hordes than eviscerator (huge two-handed chainsaw). Caxe is killing whatever it hits, but eviscerator only staggers and need several hits to kill groaners.
I think using Eviscerator special should increase cleave and max targets against unarmored enemies for light attacks.
Oh, I got it, to make sticky attack more reliable and less dangerous for player in dense situations it should suppress near enemies like in 2 m radius or something. So enemies seeing that you ripping in another with giant chainsaw and fall back. This way there’s no need in some kind resistances.
I swear I thought it worked like this on the release, but only against enemies that can be supressed. Am I mistaken?
First things first the MK 2 or 3 Evisc needs to be buffed, it’s still balanced around a pre 13 game. Especially now with Relic Blades it needs something to be able to compete.
Second I would like an overheat mechanic on Evisc (honestly from a lore perspective it makea way more since for Eviscs than for relic blades since they utilize a far cruder powerfield generator). I think managing heat is a fun mechanic especially on weapons with more difficult movesets, even if the only upside is damage (unfortunately this fun factor would only apply to the MK 2/3).
However either way I would like an update to the shred, even if not a heat mechanic. It’s pretty asinine that using light attacks is better into groups of melee elites than shred attacks because it’s safer and will actually get more damage off. This could be slightly alleviated if most of the damage was in the first shred tick, but still wouldn’t be great.
This also applies to both chainswords, of which the mk 4 (I don’t even know the new name of it, if it even has one) is in the same place as the 2/3 evisc. Not really sure how to address it.
Mk 4 Chain Axe beautifully addresses it, and is a fun and strong weapon to use (besides that mobility…) but I don’t think replicating that mechanic across every weapon is the solution (although an Evisc variant that had slower lights but more damage might be fun)
TLDR I just really want the MK 2/3 Heavy Eviscerator to feel good again, it has a super fun moveset.
I feel like that would be… how did @alsozara put it? Throwing out the baby with the bathwater? The point of 1-Handed Weapons (and ESPECIALLY ones such as Combat Blades) is the ability to quickly engage and disengage enemies. Mobility is CRUCIAL to this point.
Combat Blades’ Range is much too high, on the other hand. Combat Blades should have the same Range as Tac Axes in my opinion.
I will cite a Post from @Boz which shows just how insane the Combat Blades’ Range actually is. There is a video with it!
lol, from the side it’s even more insane
That’s an even better example! Thank you so much!
I firmly believe the range on the blade is what it should be. Yes you are right it has a far reach however in order to do what most players do ( bleed) instead of raw damage you would want that. Perhaps a good change is then to alter some blessings like uncanny, I have read this one makers it opp but i havent tested this myself.
When I talk about changing mobilty on the weapon I mean infinte speed.
But maybe im wrong because I dont see it beeing to strong so perhaps im onaware of a broken mechanic. If so could you tell me what makes it such an opp weapon ?
And I firmly disagree. Knives should definitely be fast, but they shouldn’t have the reach of a Polearm.
Just take a look at @ridjess’ Post above. That’s not absolutely ridiculous? Again, they’re not on the same level of OP as Duelling Swords, but they’re definitely not balanced when compared to the likes of Thammers and Heavy Eviscerators…
Then we should agree that we disagree ( am i saying that right ) my point is about the damage, if it did one hp damage it would not matter even if you could reach 20 meters. But i get your point and i would agree if the weapon did more damage. (Just so you know why i disagree)
I strongly believe that when we talk about balance we should first talk about bringing weapons on par with the better performing ones. Just look what the way some call balance did to ogryn.
The knife feels good for me because of its high reach. This combined with the clunky server/ping isues makes other weapons feel worse.
Yesterday I tried to use the hammer but there were moment even if i stood in front of a crusher I would not hit them. Yet the crusher overhead has far reach.
So give the hammer more reach on its powered attack, make it aoe bigger and give it a blessing like the power sword were you can do extra swings. I dont know if it still would need more damage after such changes.
Dueling sword should get some changes however it would not surprise me if they alter some perks on zealot. (50%weakspot/crit for example) so the changes should at first be small if that is true.
I would like to here if you agree or have a different idea
Edit: i havent played with the heavie Evis so im not in good position to give feedback on that weapon. In what way is it a worse or bad weapon ?
TL;DR Top tier single target damage combined with best mobility in game. If the game had like triple the amount of trash melee mobs to cut through than it currently has the lacklustre horde clear might actually hold it back.
The range mostly is a bit silly and makes its supposed downside of bad horde clear/control a lot less of a downside.
Thankyou
Now do one with t-rex arm tac axe!
yeh, it has shorter range, not that much shorter but still
you can approximately measure difference by floor round things
Because of this thread I started using the evi a lot again.
I disagree with the notion the Relic Blade replaces the Evi (I mean I kind of felt like that already but wanted to dive into both marks again first)… I like them!
I don’t want to glaze them and say they’re all better than the Relic Blade. They’re not, but they do have their niche.
I don’t think anyone is in disagreement that the mk XV evi tears up elites and bosses on revved attack. Getting rid of its absolutely cracked power for heat mechanic would be a downgrade to it.
But for the mk III, I get it. It’s not reaching the same breakpoints as chain axe on its own, so I built mine to use with Rampage and Perfect Strike with a Pious crit build. It wasn’t better than fighting with an uncharged Relic Blade, but I was fighting through really bad positioning in dense Scab only armored blobs. I don’t know how to break down my experience specifically, but the result I felt I got was less dps than relic blade, infinite cleave, one shot crushers on ult and lots of boss damage without the heat up and downtime of Relic Blade.
Maybe I can get better performance out of the mk III on a martydom or inexorable build, but I’m not getting a crushing sense of underpoweredness from it. If I should be, let me know.
Anyway, I’m not in favor of putting the heat mechanic on the Evi and sacrificing boss destroying revved attacks for somewhat better generalist gameplay… I mean we already have the Relic Blade.
As for putting it on a new mark… I mean, sure, I won’t complain if the new evi looks like this
Totally agree.
But several like them
That’s true. Different weapons, different uses.
Must say that Relic sword is impressive. But Evis is still good.
However, I have not tried evis since relic… Should try to see. But I would not use the evis like I do with my relic sword.
I use it like a barbarian, jumping in battles and shouting at the enemies my faith for the Emperor! That’s so good… that I had no time to reuse the evis.
Thankfully the tac axes are cool and awesome and i am not biased at all
I have just made a run with tact axe…
Seriously? fun to use yes. Absolutely.
Great? hmmm
I would say good. But far from the greatest weapon.
I wish that the saw attacks, at least on the eviscerator, would cleave through all enemies it would kill in a single hit, delivering full damage to each, but it bites into enemies that would survive.
