The worst thing about new weapons

Is having to check every hour for the dump stat version in the shop.

Goddam why is this system still in place? Just allow us to buy a version we want though Brunt.

You can buy directly from Brunt and just mash the button until you get one with the desired dumpstat.

Of course it’s still a pointless waste of time and horrible design, but it’s at least not timegated or anything. Usually you get what you want within like 20 purchases

Vestigial remnant of a long-dead poor design choice, included as a result of the game being released in a painfully unfinished state, painfully defended and worked around for years despite consistent and loud player dislike for reasons nobody can fathom, and now is just too much infrastructure to be worth redeveloping with focus now on maps and classes instead of platforms and features.

Nowhere has Fatshark ever really talked about what they envision for the gear system/shop, or what value they think it has. They stubbornly stick to supporting the half-assembled gacha mechanisms without appearing to know why, or at least without wanting to tell players why.

It’s a resource sink. There’s not really anywhere else they can get people to burn their dockets.

But it’s not even that, I’m never wasting dockets on random stat weapons only when I see the perfect dumpstat.

i agree it serves the purpose. you click “buy” and sometimes you get your perfect stats on the 3rd try, sometimes at the 20th (as happened to me with my ganger).

it’s nevertheless moronic. this weapon randomizer and the hunt for curios are leftovers of that terrible system that frustrated us for almost 2 years. i can only assume that it was the quick solution to leave the random weapon generator in place, now that we can build and empower anything.

yes, it’s way easier and quicker to level up now, it can be done in a day or two. but seriously, is it that hard to get rid of this nonsense completely and make 5 sliders instead so everyone can configure their weapon, and mobility isn’t almost always dumped as default. and let us empower curios just like weapons, not camp the shop like it’s 2023.

They can add an option called stats modification in hadron to change stats however you want.

exactly, and that’s why i have 30 or more perfect raw weapons of every type i found at the hourly rotations, just in case. which is also so 2023.

edit: btw, melk could sell weapons with stats that can be edited, so he stays somehow relevant. while brunt hands out the random salvaged stuff.

My guess is that they’re refusing to do some sort of inbetween solution and they have some sort of weapon stat expansion/overhaul on the table. The stats are still capping out at 80%, I’m guessing they’re keeping that potential update open for the future.

It’s like with curios. They COULD just let you buy curio types off brunt, that’s probably like 5 minutes of work to implement. They choose not to because they might rework curios completely in a year instead.

It’s one of Fatsharks weakest points when it comes to development. They don’t hotfix systems.

They torched the weapon drop system (instead of simply copying VT2 and making crafting reasonable and Veteran items trivial upgrades, for some reason.) Unfortunately, it was also the primary metagame, only mechanically impactful progression system, and the sole non-cosmetic currency sink.

They replaced it with a frankly insufficient upgrade to the store of recolor skins and the penance track, neither of which has been updated since.

Apparently - at least according to former CM Hedge - they’re happy with where these systems are at because they don’t condone no-lifing the game, even though its endgame mode requires a level of commitment that most of the developers are - to the best of the community’s knowledge - incapable of.

The drop system was horrific, let’s not kid ourselves.

I’m sorry, are you from the past?
Brunts Armory got us covered.

so you rather sit at 25mil cap and enjoy the dragons hoard?

sure we could have better options at getting weapons, curios are the real pain in the ass 200k melk bucks and only one 21% health and one 17% toughness.

but getting dumpstat weapons by now is a matter of seconds

Yes.

I dont have 25 mil

At the very worst you need like 100k for a weapon

Still yeah it’s a pretty silly system of click button until desired result is achieved

Nothing else to spend your dockets on worth while. Don’t waste your time checking the store. Just use brunts and move on.
