The new gating system is a start, but doesn't go far enough

Well there is less chance for console player in Maelstrom. Then again it just becomes easier because everyone just speed runs. Very common to see Maelstrom ends up like around 300 kills and around 400K damage per person, someone would mistake that as T5 Regular numbers but it is because everyone is going bypass through mobility.

Sure you get the moments where you can’t do that in certain areas and require mini game mechanics, but few and far between.

Plus staying back means rest of team will grab all ammo and meds first because everyone goes speed run. Puts them in position of seeing a trail of empty boxes. In Quickplay people rarely share.

No point using blocklist. The limit I think is 50, chances of you bumping into same person very rare.

Why direct this to me?

the more i play, the more I think they need to at least triple the advancement requirement and make it also require that you finish five consecutive games without dying.

there are too many people who just cannot deal trying to run high levels and you can see the frustration. A lot of newer players are getting overwhelmed again and again, then rage quitting. I keep seeing it.

I also feel the mannerisms and game etiquette of gamers in DT have gone down hill also, which seems to correspond with the gamers trying to speed run to level 30 in too high of game selection, but maybe it has been there way longer.

sah, i think i did, sah

seriously, health is fine, confident strike keeps toughness up long enough between the yellow wololo and honestly 90/120/140 toughness melt half a second apart if you position yourself badly into ranged enemies.

health though is a finite ressource and lets you get out of a pinch more often than not :man_shrugging:

When it comes to learning a coop PvE game akin to DT etc, you learn skills at different rates or even one after another.

I’d wager most people find it easter to focus on what they are doing and learn all the “me-related” skills first before they learn the “us-related” skills.

If you’re having to dedicated a lot of your mental processing on how to move, attack and dodge, you’re going to neglect things like: keeping track of specials, target prio, using the resources you find on the right person at the right time etc.

The mechanical side of the game needs to be 2nd nature to you before you can focus on what you should be doing instead of how you’re doing it.

A lot of players I see playing this game as if it’s a solo experience with 3 randoms in the same match have developping mechanical skills and no meta-game skills.

Some of these skills can take a really long time to learn when you don’t ask yourself the right questions like: should I be the one using that heal or should someone else get it?

Most never even get that far or don’t care to ask themselfs questions like that.

Just want to reiterate the importance of this. With the Arbites release there are a lot of people with no clue at all what they’re doing getting carried to Damnation level. The matchmaker is bloated with people who are accustomed to Arbite staying power trying to level other classes on the top difficulty they can access. It’s almost unplayable, unless you’re willing to hard carry them. Game is boring

indeed :+1:

many people seem to be out of their depth with simply controlling their character , so there’s little attention left to individual positioning and tactics, and even less to things concerning other players.

tbh darktide mechanics differ enough from classic shooters so i didn’t have it easy either in the beginning, as i elaborated here:

btw, my own biggest challenge is keeping track of everything due to all visual clutter in the game.

but what’s really striking is this lack of common sense in some people. for example, if i’m already far in front of my team, and i continue running, while they can’t advance because of fire: where do i think i’ll end up? perhaps… even farther away and alone?

darktide isn’t a pvp game where you need to outsmart a cunning opponent, but a pretty brainded ai that mostly overwhelms you with numbers… and being beaten by that is rather humbling imo when it happens only because people see enemy, run at enemy, and forget about everything around them.

once again, this is urgent. The game is in a terrible state, you need more robust filtering.

That said, no real filtering, I’ve just hit my blocked players cap(didn’t know about that), and you won’t let me disable crossplay, so it’s back to Helldivers.

Im talking about a noob who sucks at the game not you mr 3000 hour ogryn

but im using 90 toughness in havoc, wasnt that your point if critique ? :man_shrugging:

If you’re going to release OP classes like this on the regular, you really need to increase the blocklist capacity.

Attempting to carry bad players is not fun

I just got kicked from another game for trashing a perma smite psyker and this couldnt be more true. Were running out of ammo cuz this bozo isnt doing anything and the ogryn and I are killing everything and this dude has the nerve to ask me where my health went after walking out of his bubble to kill snipers meanwhile jes done zero dps all game. I was like yeah you havent taken any damage because youre cc’ing enemies constantly standing behind your team watching them kill everything. I just find it hilarious that if you complain at all whatsoever about a perma smite psyker hi jacking the ai in your game you get kicked but people never ever vote to kick the perma smite psyker for basically spectating all game. Its to the point where I dont even want to touch the auric or maelstrom board anymore because perma smite psykers infest the difficulties. Atleast when im constantly losing havoc games I dont have to deal
With them. He tried to tell me in 3k hours between dt and vermintide hed never met someone so salty, yeah thats cuz most people leave the pre game lobby the moment they see bubble smite. How the hell are you contributing anything to this game when your damage is abysmal and even though I’m dragging you through the mission im the one to get kicked because I dared to even remotely tell you to stop smiting and kill something. Sorry many of us dont like the fact that you can basically spectate all game and noone can do anything about it. Also hilarious right before I got kicked I killed like 15 elites and specialists that ran in. Im like yeah dudes you will probably end up losing because of this idiot and especially if you all go down and hes expected to engage with a single mechanic in the game at all whatsoever. Im real sick of all these horrible players expecting for you to drag them through missions. Genuinely cant stand the player base anymore. They desperately need to rework smite or atleast make it so people can pop using it so I can not revive them and maybe they leave because as it stands they dont even have to engage with peril mechanics.

He was a horrible player though. There is a difference between someone who would probably fair better with toughness who sucks at the game stacking health who is in over their head in havoc and you. He was getting shredded constantly. Him stacking health only added to him dying repeatedly and ultimately leaving and there is no telling what his build looked like. Granted toughness probably wouldnt have helped him Either but 90 toughness was not helping him. Obviously there isnt anything wrong with stacking health but if you suck and cant stay alive playing with the same toughness as a martyrdom zealot is not going to help you stay alive.

The game should let you join any difficulty at any time, but if you aren’t strong enough a Fatshark goon comes to your house and beats you up.

pls expand block list. i have to take a solo/carry build in Auric constantly.
