C’mon, nothing’s THAT bad.
I at least go to the Orthus menu to re watch that Traitor Curse update cutscene because its actually good and consists of a lot more than just ‘what are you doing here I didn’t summon you rank up more’. The ones they retconned in were pretty alright too, like Brunt’s Armory.
They can go hard when they want to. I’m just mad they never uploaded the glorious version of the hero’s theme that the Grail Knight trailer has for like 10 seconds.
Wasn’t it just… oh here are some baddies we’re never once talked about before, a brother and sister, but they’re totally a big deal, even though you’ve never heard of them before, so go kill them please.
Also, look at them walking and talking. See how BAD they are, what with their walking around and all.
It’s very funny because some of the Martyr’s Skulls has some lore for them…not a lot but some. Which was released after we’ve killed them.
VT 2 doesn’t have much lore for it’s bosses either from what I understand. But at the same time it doesn’t place the same emphasis on them as the Karnak twins had.
It’s difficult to be attached to a cacophony of largely interchangeable disembodied voices constantly screaming at you.
Please tell me that’s not true…
I was actually interested in Remnant.
If only it was consistent. The game has us start out as essentially penal legion scum and the final cutscene has us elevated to full Inquisititorial acolytes. But the game doesn’t ever change to reflect that.
Darktide is loosely based on Dark Heresy, the Black Library’s tabletop 40k D&D equivalent. Going by the standards of the rpg book, the story of our characters in darktide just getting to lvl 30 should be a whole campaign unto itself.
But in game Fatshark blows through all of that potential story and development in about 3 minutes of disjointed cutscenes. And then absolutely nothing changes and all of the named characters still act like you’re some useless, disposable idiot instead of an experienced agent of the Inquisition.
For me I just treat that last cutscene of us becoming acolytes as the roll credits cut scene. And that all play time after that is before the cut scene really.
… Not everyone and everything is! It’s a lot more complicated than that. I wouldn’t let it stop you.
Ditto.
